Her tweet because I’m me is such a massive insult.
My friends mum died of Covid (late 50s ,healthy ) and she didn’t just give up.
Her body couldn’t fight anymore
You would think nearly dying would change a person for the better

Just been catching up on the news and damn, that's really really shitty for her and her whole family. I can't imagine what's going through Lee's mind right now, such a mixture of emotions, bless him.

As a doctor I just want to give my two cents. I think based on such little information given in that post it's very difficult to speculate the extent of her condition. Like many have said it does appear that she was conscious after giving birth and then put into a coma the following day. It's not uncommon for pregnant women to deteriorate like this straight after giving birth as so much changes with your body/stress levels/hormones, but with the addition of COVID, obesity (and other underlying health conditions that we have no idea about), it's not surprising they have put her into a medically induced coma to help her rest and recuperate. People can be put into a coma for a few days just because it makes things easier for the team to manage and monitor the condition, it's not always because they're on death's door so to speak.

Personally, I also don't think it's terrible for people to be mentioning her weight, as it is something that people have consistently talked about in this forum so it shouldn't change just because she's unwell when there is a small possibility of it being related. I guess it's just about being tactful with it.

Anyways, God bless her and her family. I'm so glad to hear the baby is okay and I wish her well!

I survived because I'm me... oh fuck off. How insulting to every hard working member of the NHS staff that worked tirelessly to keep her alive.

I’ve been wondering this too. I am over the moon that she will be able to meet her son, I hope they are able to take time to bond and connect.
I did reach out to Charleigh victory (the sister) by innocently asking how Grace was and was answered within seconds... received a horrible response from her saying she doesn’t have to answer to anyone and that we are all “nobody’s” when it concerns HER and GRACE.... she also said she wouldnt tell a “nobody like me” anything as I could be a tabloid or magazine wanting insider info on celebrity Graces status.... 🙄

But glad to hear she is doing ok....

F you Grace.
My friend had a higher percentage chance of surviving COVID but was also placed in an induced coma. She’s slightly older than you but not overweight and is now registered disabled. She can barely get a full sentence out without having to take a break, she is having to learn to walk again, and has been told she needs a lung transplant but isn’t strong enough for one so isn’t even being considered.
Wanna look her in the eye and tell her it’s because she’s not Grace F Victory?

Grace RT'd this...her ego knows no bounds.

Also, I HATE when people go on about how "God is great" (her followers). No. How about science and the doctors who saved her life are great. Sorry, I am a total atheist and just find that mindset SO insulting.

I completely agree. If any of my staff said anything like that there would be hell on.
It's really upset me (I've had a few Friday gins tbf)

Im a size 18, in the past 10 years I've been to the doctor only to get my birth control pill. I pay my taxes and NI. Yet posts like this make me feel almost guilty if I were to end up hospitalised? Am I not a soul worth saving as I weigh a few more stone than the nurses?

fatphobia has no place in healthcare.

I’m so delighted and relieved Grace woke up and worried every single day about her. It’s wonderful and brilliant that she survived. What a fantastic service the NHS is.
I just think the ‘because I’m me’ is a kick in the face for anyone who didn’t and anyone who lost loved ones.

Here we go again...it’s actually because you live in a privileged country who can afford to keep you on a ventilator for three fucking months. In Iran they don’t let you stay on ventilator for more than 3 days, which Grace definitely wouldn’t have survived! Thanks to the NHS she was given a proper chance.

Wow. Only just seen the news and caught up here. I’m in shock. I feel sick. I am so desperately hoping that Grace and baby boy can both recover fully.

My heart is with Lee, Charlie and Grace’s mum and stepdad. I have never been a fan of the girl but my god, I know we can all agree we would never have predicted this in a million years, and we never wanted her to come to harm.

Lekenah can fuck off, to be honest. Disgusting Covid deniers like her have directly put Grace in this situation. I hope she’s feeling mighty guilty right now.

There is absolutely no way this is embellished for attention and to suggest so is gross. This may be a trash thread but ridiculous suggestions deserve to get called out.

I've been quite vocal in my defence of Grace on here, to the point that it's involved my posts being reported, but I am horrified she would tweet that. I appreciate she has been through a monumental battle and must be feeling a mix of emotions that are overwhelming, but there is absolutely no need to infer that other people didn't put up enough of a fight, weren't loved enough, or didn't have what it took to survive. Such a shame to put that twist on what could have been a special moment.

Imagine being put into a medically induced coma for months after having your premature baby delivered and cared for by countless staff and then thanking YOURSELF over those who saved both your lives lol. Grace is even more loathsome now than she was before.

ETA - I am fairly certain she has been awake alot longer than when she first announced it. By doing that she’s able to make it appear as though he recovery has been really quick and that is all down to her and now strong she is when in reality she’s probably begun the rehabilitation process some time ago.

I wonder why she gave up on breathing with her own lungs in the first place? Maybe she just fancied a rest after only 7 months of pregnancy that she obviously just gave up on too? Lazy Grace!

When did I ever claim to be a brave hero?

Get off your high horse. You’re acting as if I am wishing the woman dead!

All I am saying is that her size and covid contributing have done this. I’m sorry but that’s the truth.

I feel sorry for her but there’s no point in going “awwww xxxx” when this is the actual cause of her being in the state she’s in.

I sympathise deeply but this is what has happened. We’ve all known for ages that her weight would cause problems. People have even stated on here before that she may have trouble with the birth because of her obesity.
"Get off your high horse!" yells the psycho who thinks that a women who is laid up, very possibly dying, while her premature newborn son is without his mother posts repeatedly in a gossip forum screeching to strangers that we need to not forget that Grace is overweight!!!! Don't forget guys!!!! That's the capital T Truth that is so very crucial that we don't lose sight of right now!!!!!

Get therapy

Yes, I’m absolutely thrilled for her but I wish she’d realise this is all luck. It’s a hugely rude thing to say, because it insinuates anyone who wasn’t as lucky just isn’t as special or as strong. Horrible attitude. Good luck to her, though.

Sidenote: did Lekenah have weight lose surgery? You’d think anti-vaxxers wouldn’t believe in something like that. Ridiculous that they pick and choose what medical intervention to put their faith in.

Are you aware this is a trash thread on a gossip site? 😬
Yes, read any of my comments on other people’s threads. But Grace and her son could die. That is not something to be trashing or gossiping about and I refuse to let you gaslight me into thinking otherwise

Does anyone think some of these posts are a bit erratic? I think she should have done one or two then had some time out to recover.

If missing the first two months of your babies life and staring death in the face and coming out the other side doesn’t teach you humility, you’ll never change.

I bet when the year is out she’ll have an bbc iPlayer special on her recovery and more coverage and free stuff then ever. If after 3 months in a coma your first instinct isn’t to thank those who saved your life, it’s shameful,.
