I was really amused by that. In my head, this happened:
Sir Rod: … and for backing singers, I want ‘dolly birds’ in short, skin-tight red dresses, with matching high heels. Mostly blonde, but the occasional brunette is ok if she’s got decent knockers.
Production-type person: That’s not really how we do things nowadays. We do blind auditions for the musicians who are the best performers; appearance doesn’t come into it, and we’d be happy for them to wear whatever they’re most comfortable in.
Sir Rod: … and I want them all to be former Miss World contestants or ex-models. And did I mention that the dresses need to be really short?

I was also aware that he had a throat operation in 2000 and had to re-learn to sing afterwards. Just read that actually he had thyroid cancer and the surgery involved cutting though his vocal cords. It's pretty much a miracle that he could perform at all. I hope I have the same energy as Rod and Neil Young when (if) I get to be 80
I've been to Glastonbury I think 4 times. I did not see drugs when I was there apart from once in the green fields and older lady in a wheelchair if I remember correctly. This was 20 years ago.
There aren't really bag checks as you go in. To be fair it would take hours to get people in if they were as so much stuff is brought on site.
I never felt unsafe there, if anything the weather makes it hard. There is little shade when it is hot. When it rains the mud can become really thick making it hard to walk through and there aren't many places to sit so it becomes very tiring.
I really enjoyed going and would again but I need to lose weight and get fitter before I did. The worst thing is the loos they do stink but you just need to work out the best times and places to go.
You obviously don't see as many acts as you can watch on the TV but there is also so much more going on than music.
