Sir Rod might not have the strongest voice anymore but considering he's 80 and still recovering from flu I thought he was great and he still sang live the backing singers and band were great and they all looked like they were having an amazing time

It’s not a Rod Stewart concert unless the ladies are in coordinating mini dresses and heels.

I was really amused by that. In my head, this happened:

Sir Rod: … and for backing singers, I want ‘dolly birds’ in short, skin-tight red dresses, with matching high heels. Mostly blonde, but the occasional brunette is ok if she’s got decent knockers.
Production-type person: That’s not really how we do things nowadays. We do blind auditions for the musicians who are the best performers; appearance doesn’t come into it, and we’d be happy for them to wear whatever they’re most comfortable in.
Sir Rod: … and I want them all to be former Miss World contestants or ex-models. And did I mention that the dresses need to be really short?

Pulp At least they turned up, worst kept secret in the world! Everyone else has been bang average. I have seen Pulp live 64 times and each time they just get better and better. Pretty sure Jarvis is wearing the same cords he wore in 1990 though. Something Changed was our wedding song.

Can you imagine in 1995 if John Squire didn't break his collar bone, we would have never had *that* set?

Also the sound quality on the Pyramid Stage is out of whack. I thought it was a BBC thing but the other stages are fine. Too many of them are miming as well.

Oh Jarvis, matured like a fine wine. He still does this.

Well this was my 14th Glasto since 2000 and I had an absolutely blast . Managed to see at least 20 acts and wondered around everywhere on the wed and thurs. Fab value for money for who I saw! My top 3 were Wolf Alice, Pulp and Shed Seven but also loved The Prodigy, Neil Young, The Kaiser Chiefs, Supergrass, Lola Young, Raye, Snow Patrol and more I can name! I feel sad it’s over and can’t wait til 2027, when hopefully I’ll be able to get a ticket! . It’s changed over the years but still the best festival in the world and I intend to go till I can’t get tickets or physical can’t!

Raye was fab and Lewis Capaldi and Pulp. BBC coverage is shit. Daughter and family were there last night and said the crowd for CharliXCX was so large it was dangerous. They came home and watched on tv ( we live 5 miles from site )
They’re going back in shortly as their 9 year old wants to see Olivia Rodrigo.

I take issue with the 'BBC coverage is shit' comments - this really is a mammoth job behind the scenes. To be able to get this much live and streamable content, across multiple stages, over a full three days with limited sound checks and all the other tech stuff going on it really is an amazing job. No other TV channel or corporation even get near this level.

So even if the bands aren't to your liking, the odd technical hitch is forgivable I think

I first went to Glasto in the early 90s when it cost me about £50 for the weekend. Bought the tickets in a shop at about Easter time and drove there on the Thursday to get there by middayish. Acts generally started on the Friday. The weather was baking, had a great time with my friends but there was certainly a lot of drugs being taken openly and it was easy to jump over the fence. Went regularly from then and by 2000 it was getting ridiculous with the numbers coming in without paying which is when the big fence came in and ticket prices went up a lot. Think it also coincided with far more TV coverage and it becoming much harder to get tickets.. I stopped going about 10 years ago as I'd had enough and prefer smaller events but usually watch a fair bit on the TV. However, as it was rarely about the headliners to me (loved walking around just dropping into the smaller stages etc and discovering things) it's never had the same vibe from home as you genuinely don't feel like it's the same event. They can't cover even a tiny percentage of what is going on and the press coverage of ones I've been at never displayed the festival I'd attended. Personally I though the line up was pants this year but I'm sure I'd have found things I enjoyed and whilst it's a big outlay, per act it's incredibly good value. Worth also noting that for people with kids, the kid's field is an amazing experience and, to my knowledge, never shown on TV.

People saying it’s a rubbish line up have probably never been to Glastonbury.

It’s rarely about the acts that are playing, even more so the headline acts. It’s about being there for the moment the red arrows fly over during Common People, a smiley face being drawn in the sky while Nile is transporting us back to Studio 54 or Lewis announcing his return to music.

Beyond the main stages it’s about being on a full size pier in the middle of a field watching Punch and Judy while introducing your kids to the joy of pinball. It’s about making best friends with people you will never see again (or until next June when you bump in to them at 2am down the South East corner and you remember everything they ever told you apart from their names!)

The BBC do a great job of covering the main stages (apart from the obvious) but the best stages are the ones you come across as you wander, who knew a band of busking pirates could be so much fun!

So for everyone saying thank god it’s a fallow year next year, hopefully you won’t be on line in Oct 2026 as we all have the stress of watching those green bars slowly creep up!

You probably have to view it as the price of a weekend away not the price to see some bands. I get that it's the biggest thing of it's kind and, should things fall into place, I bet it's an amazing feeling. I just know I would lose people, have toilet issues, miss the act I actually wanted to see, get sick of people, get sunburned etc... at my age I know myself enough to know petitspois is best on the sofa with the remote.

I think that’s bullshit. Emily Eavis pretty much runs it now as Michael is 89 and allegedly unwell and she’s very committed to the festival. I do feel like it needs a year or so off to smooth out the issues it’s had in recent years. However the hippy crack thing isn’t a shock, drugs have always been at Glastonbury and people always find a way of getting it in.

I have been 15 times including working on a particular event field for five of those times (they don't do that event any more), well aware of the drugs there, but I've never ever seen it quite like this, just from the stone circle.
