cutting a game should allow Gladiators to rest more between games, and be a shorter shooting day. I don't particularly like the idea of fewer games, but there are to many Glads out with injury by end of filming. They look exhausted by the end.
My idea would be to introduce some games which are less physically taxing, but still demonstrated a skill and play one low impact game in each episode.
The old shows had a game involving the contender having to hit a target while the gladiator fired balls at them from a raised platform for example. I am sure that HB could think of a few low impact or target hitting games if they really wanted.

I don’t think they’re genuinely trying to end the show with the reduction in events or the Gladiator names; the latter is just not what we’ve been used to since the series began. Emperor is bad, but not as bad as Gold Star. The other two names I can live with. I’ve seen a pic of Gold Star and she’s got a skirt (think Netball attire) and plaited hair so I do think it’s more of a gimmick thing for younger views. Same with Huntress and her spear and Hammer’s…ahem, hammer.
I do think there’s a reason for the event reduction and I’d say it’s either because the episode length has been cut or to try and reduce Gladiator injuries/fatigue. If it is the former, then I don't see there being a reduction in interviews and such like. It does make me wonder, though, how they think the original Gladiators coped when they only had 12 Gladiators, only had six events per episode and in some events they were against both contenders - see Hang Tough, Danger Zone and Duel.
No Mark or Lee refereeing today. No Viper on any events yesterday either. It’s all a bit odd and perhaps too much change at once.

viper was there competing today I have read. They were all there as they filmed the opening credits today and the walk on bits. Someone even said Bionic was there today.
Then what is going on?! It’s all very strange. I wonder if there is the main roster of Gladiators and so may make appearances if there are injuries etc. The American Gladiators did that a lot in rhe 90s.
Its very confusing with all the rumours and gladiators not being there on all days etc....... i had assumed when the advertised months ago for new gladiators it was due to all the injuries last year, as the ones left had to do so many events it was too much for them. But people seem to think they are doing straight replacements, which seems bonkers to me as you still dont have enough people if they all get injured like last year!
Is American Gladiators on Amazon yet? When I went to look for it last time it just kept saying "coming soon"

Hungry Bear/production stopped someone from a fan page going in yesterday! Saying they’d breached policy! 
And people on Reddit saying there’s a weird atmosphere in the arena.
Surely it could all have been avoided if they made an announcement as to what was going on, even if vague eg “Due to injury and family commitments, x y and z are taking a break. But we have some new exciting Glads to introduce!” Or whatever. Instead, apart from Giant and Tom Strongman it’s all speculation

I saw that! We go on Friday and im getting worried how its going to be for my obsessed daughter. I just think its too many changes all at once. They will alienate the young fans, and let's be honest its the kids who pester the parents for the merch and the tour etc..... in the main.
To be fair, there is only a single post on Reddit from what I can see saying about an 'uneasy atmosphere' in the arena, and that's someone's perception of it. Looking at things on social media, those who went are generally having a good time. But I do agree it's definitely giving too many changes all at once. I guess they couldn't help some things beyond their control like injuries and voluntary choices not to come back (in one case, if tea on Reddit is to be believed). They should've tinkered with the team last series to make things a bit easier this time around with more changes if wanted/needed to make any. I feel one of the biggest problems with the show is the lack of change...literally everything has been the same for three seasons, except new games and two new Gladiators.

They've only singled him out because they know him and know he has an Instagram site about the show so they to keep as much control as possible. apparently Tabitha Stoecker is Gold Star, and she did win a Gold medal at the Winter Olympics
Oohhhhh I remember her!!! Interesting. Still a really rubbish name.
That's great. But give her a name like Ice, Mistress Freeze, Shiver, Blizzard etc. then. Not one that makes it sound like she's a competition winner.

Glad to hear he’s back, but I do like Sonia so glad she’s got a bit of extra screen time.
Weird tea about yesterday’s filming in that there was a Duel match between Sabre and Hurricane from American Gladiators. If true, wonder maybe something is coming up about cross-promoting the series to the UK audience via Prime.
