Gutted about the injuries and the same male gladiator if true
I follow both Fury and Cyclone on insta so did wonder as they’ve both had spinal injuries I think. Sad if Phantom went, was hoping Apollo would get the boot.

New gladiator names are ridiculous.
I’m quite shocked they have cut so many, I guess they can’t reveal that though until after the live tour and the experience meet and greets. Phantom didn’t come across well on Celebrity SAS but him going leaves all the running events to Nitro so let’s hope he doesn’t get injured again.

Apparently Viper didn’t play any games yesterday so I am wondering whether all the Gladiators who have been ‘cut’ is actually true.
Other tea on Reddit suggests that Comet is only taking a break for this series. She gets married later this year so perhaps doesn’t want to jeopardise that with a possible injury?

I actually like the idea of a roster change every so often on these sorts of show. It keeps things fresh and stops people coastingon reputation. Imo strictly has had pros for years that have never got anywhere near winning, and some of the newer dancers come in and finish really well on first go. It keeps things fresh and interesting imo.
Some of the male glads are in late 30s/early 40s. There will be a point when they can't keep up playing the games to same level they are now. I would rather they leave on a high, than still be on in 10 years and unable to compete as they once did.
As other posters have said, some Glads may have just decided not to return for personal reasons this year.
The show is very physically intensive and has a high injury risk. I wouldn't blame anyone who decided that they didn't want to risk another injury that would put them out of action for months and possibly risk not returning to full fitness again.
Lastly ( this ended up way to long sorry), being an ex-Gladiator is probably going to be a good springboard for getting other work. I think we will eventually see people go from Gladiators into other jobs on TV, in fitness industry or as an Influencer. So leaving the show isn't necessarily going to be bad for them.

None spoiler, I have seen some people complaining that the show hasn't announced who will be taking part before filming starts.
They normally do announcements closer to broadcast. Hammer and Cyclone were not announced in advance beyond the teaser of ' New Gladiators'. People returning from injury are normally announced just before TV starts as well, even though we know months in advance who has recovered. I think people forget that some things are meant to be a surprise for the TV audience. It would not be a surprise if all the surprises were announced 6 months in advance of the broadcast.
I think we only heard about Giant leaving as he made a fuss about it.

Clattenberg is back today for filming. Just didnt do yesterday and Sonia was head referee.
Agree with this 100% - a teaser is one thing but if the whole thing is spoiled then what’s the point.
I gather from this thread there’s a few people who watch Worlds strongest man (I’ve no idea why I do, other than it’s aired at Christmas time and it’s peak sofa season), but that’s filmed at least six months ahead and it’s so easy to find out who won, and it really does take out some of the enjoyment of watching!

Those new female Gladiator names are awful. They really couldn't think of anything better? Did they just not even try and let their kids/Chat GPT do the work instead?
Agreed, I enjoy watching worlds strongest man too and don't look at the outcome in advance(but why do they not broadcast closer to the actual event)?
I can kind of get behind Huntress, but Gold Star is absolutely terrible. Easily the worst UK Gladiator name ever.

Phantoms dad has died recently and im sure its only a few weeks until Comets wedding.
So the new male gladiator Ahmed has a terrible name...... Emporer. Wtf are they thinking this series?

I said the same. If the rumours about the cut gladiators are true, and the new names which to be honest are all terrible...... and
the fact they have gone from 5 events to 4
It is like they are trying to finish the show off!
