There was some suspect timings in the live show too - in our one the eliminator had a 6 second lead that was nowhere near that as it would have been ridiculous.
Ignore me! I’ve just gone back again and she did post! I swear this wasn’t there before because I even scrolled back to August, which is when Nicola first posted about it, thinking maybe Vogue had posted at the time of filming rather then when it went out. I must have gone cross eyed and missed it after the 50+ posts relating to I’m A CelebI didn’t know Vogue hadn’t posted anything about it online. That is a surprise as I would’ve thought it would be contractual? I wonder if she’s a bit embarrassed by it? Loving the shade Nicola’s thrown by liking that comment.
I do love Gladiators but production aren’t adverse to a bit of riggory to get the result they want - see changing the rules of The Wall for the men’s series two finale so Joe still had a lead over Mus.
Perhaps she archived it for a bit to stop people posting comments about the ladder, and brought it back once the moment had passed.Ignore me! I’ve just gone back again and she did post! I don’t think she’s a good Gladiator in term of events at all. The Edge she messes around on, she’s terrible at the wall and gauntlet. She’s okay at Dual but I think she plays up to the fact she’s beautiful and uses that to get by. There is far better Gladiators than Saber. She also made some very bizarre comments about men who are pictured in the same PJs as their families in that they should be sent to the army to ‘toughen up’. She doubled down on those views when challenged just like she has done with the AI post.
I do like her as a Gladiator as she’s really good at the events and has a good character but I’m going off her, to be honest. The old army trope mentioned above needs to die.
I can’t stand her. I don’t like her character, she’s cocky and has no reason to be given she often performs poorly, and she comes across so unlikeable. It’s as if she’s trying to be a villain at times but isn’t “bad” enough for that so it just comes across as arrogance.I don’t think she’s a good Gladiator in term of events at all. I agree with this. Really liked her in series one, but now she's become really unlikeable, especially after the events. Where Legend's cockiness comes across as good humoured and tongue in cheek, Sabre just comes across as smug and mean.I really liked Sabre in the first series, she was probably my favourite female Gladiator, but as time has gone on, I've gone off her. She seems really cocky, always wants the camera on her and some of the other female Gladiators are much better at the events than she is...I guess because they're not all just preening and posing.
Looking forward to series 3!
I’m not a fan of Cyclone either. Or Hammer for that matter. I felt so let down by the new additions last season. Cyclone is at least slightly better at being a villain than Sabre but it’s just not the right fit. And I’m not sure what it is about Hammer but I just don’t get him - his one sleeved suit annoys me more than it should!I don't know, I feel like Cyclone is only one step away from being either another mean girl like Sabre, or just ridiculously angry like Viper.
I don't like them, either. Perhaps it's because Hammer is a bit useless, and Cyclone is also mean-spirited to the extent it comes across as un-sportly. I think you've summed up my thoughts on Cyclone perfectly.I don't like them, either. Perhaps it's because Hammer is a bit useless, and Cyclone is also mean-spirited to the extent it comes across as un-sportly. If that's a word!
I really like Fury. She's good at the games and supportive to the contestants. I think she's a good, positive role model for the young uns with her lobe of so many sports (and of course as a representation of deafness on prime time TV) and she comes across well on other shows too. It made me sad that she lost her dad recently. I felt for her as I lost a parent young too, especially as she said he should've been there to watch her on Strictly at xmas.Fury comes across as the nicest gladiator. Both on screen and on social media. She seems lovely.
Absolutely agree! I like that they didn't try to get her to put on a fake smug persona, she's just herself, a sporty, strong and extremely likeable Northern lass! If she was in the 90s version of the show she's the one I'd have wanted to beI really like Fury. She's good at the games and supportive to the contestants.
