I got so excited about Nitro being back and doing unleashed this series chatting to Mr Owl at the weekend, he said I was a loser

I said the same but it'll be so unfair on the person who gets him. The other contender gets an all round gladiator and Nitro's one gets an Olympic sprinter

I was going to say exactly the same - Highlander would be great! Love that they have replaced Giant with someone even bigger and relatively well known no one is irreplaceable (well apart from Legend maybe).

I really like Highlander. It makes him sound like a warrior. They might not be able to use it because of The Highlander films/TV series.

I didn't know Atlas was associated with strongman, that would be a cool name.

In the original series the gladiators were fit but reasonably normal. Why now are the men in particular so over tall? So many well over 6ft. Such a disadvantage for the contestants.

I think they were already looking for a new male and female Gladiator to join, and then with Giant departure they’ve maybe added 2 males? So maybe still a new girl to be announced ?

I see Dynamite continues to try and pursue a country music career. It might be worth paying for an actual songwriter because the lyrics to her songs so far have been awful.

Like others, the longer I've followed the Gladiators the more annoying they've become. I've had to mute most of them now except for Fury, Comet and Legend.

I think people forget that some things are meant to be a surprise for the TV audience. It would not be a surprise if all the surprises were announced 6 months in advance of the broadcast

Agree with this 100% - a teaser is one thing but if the whole thing is spoiled then what’s the point.
I gather from this thread there’s a few people who watch Worlds strongest man (I’ve no idea why I do, other than it’s aired at Christmas time and it’s peak sofa season), but that’s filmed at least six months ahead and it’s so easy to find out who won, and it really does take out some of the enjoyment of watching!

Sending someone through as fastest runner up seems a bit flawed. Surely something like highest average score across all games would be a better all round indicator. Aneila could’ve been absolutely crap across all events (she wasn’t, I know) but all she had to do was have a fast Eliminator and she got through twice. Amanda won all her Eliminators, helped by the points she picked up during the games to give her the head start, to help her to win, but all Aneila had to do was have a quick time.

Was rooting for Mus to win, but very happy for Joe too. Mus was very magnanimous in defeat and genuinely looked delighted for Joe, and for the good showing he gave of himself too, I’m sure. Aneila could learn a thing or two from him, particularly as she was only in the final to begin with because someone else had to drop out due to injury.

That’s literally the flaw every week though. You saw how quickly Mus made up time on Joe, anyone else and he would have breezed past them despite them having a healthy head start from doing better on the games. It all comes down to who is fast on the eliminator

I thought it was a great final! Although did anyone else think there was something up with Phantom’s leg in Unleash?

Yep we’ve just watched the final and felt like the gladiators were fatigued and something was deffo wrong with phantom’s leg as he was quite “slow” on unleash.

Every time the commentator says a gladiator is undefeated on something they inevitably then lose. I’d really like to hope that the producers don’t get involved with much of the show ie I hope that it’s general bad luck rather than a glad being told they need to topple off to give x contender points.

fingers crossed there are less injuries next season. I’ve missed diamond and I really want Athena to actually come good - I had high hopes for her!

I think they are getting 2 male and 2 female gladiators.

They were advertising way before Giant left. My opinion is it was all the injuries last year, they had so many out and the same gladiators were having to do so many events for the recording, I am surprised there weren't more injuries in the end!

I can’t see it anymore so will assume it’s gone.

Most of the male Gladiators appear to have wives/girlfriends judging by their personal accounts. Phantom and Apollo appear to be a little less clear, but that’s fine, as they’re both my future husbands so I can live a bigamous life living with one one half the week and then the other the other half of the week. From the female team, it’s only really Fury and Comet that I’ve seen showing off their partners on their personal pages. In Comet’s case, she’s totally obsessed with her fiancé and it’s quite nauseating.

Diamond has a partner called Coach Grant but she mainly posts their dogs

I am the opposite. I hope it means before season 4 they are finally going to cull a few for the first time, as there are too many anyway.

This bunch aren't dominant enough or intimidating enough. Imagine someone like Viper being around in the days of Shadow and Warrior. Hang Tough should be brought back as well, but it's probably too difficult for most of the current lot.

Did we have it in the 1st series of this new version? Thought they had brought it back.

Injured and not competing - Cyclone, Fury.

New female Gladiator names - Huntress, Gold Star (yes, Gold Star).
New male Gladiator name - Highlander.

4 events and the eliminator per show now rather than 5 events.

Gold Star maybe series 2 winner, Amanda.

Sad about the injured glad as they both bring so much to the show.
New male glad name they really thought bout that didt they .
Shocked about 1 of the not returning glad thought they where a good all rounder & bit of eye candy. The other 3 I won't miss...
