I wonder if he expected the bbc/production company to come knocking last minute to ask him back, and instead the Sun have published an article about his “replacement”, and reality has finally hit filming starts in a few weeks and he ain’t involved any more

Viper is supposed to be a bit rubbish though, he’s the baddie for the kids to jeer at. Legend is the heel for the grown ups.

Whilst I agree he's fun for the kids (mine really like him) you've got to have some talent to be on this. He's alright in a team setting (powerball, for example), but if he's one on one with a contestant you know he's going to lose, which is unfair to the other contestant as they will face a better Gladiator.

I wanted Amanda to win, partly because Aneila had been so sour at times, and partly because Aneila got through to the quarter/semi and the final just for being the runner up twice. Amanda deserved to be there. And yet again the women's eliminator was decided by whether someone can climb a rope well or not. Work on your upper body girls!

I was going to say exactly the same - Highlander would be great! Love that they have replaced Giant with someone even bigger and relatively well known no one is irreplaceable (well apart from Legend maybe).

It's one thing using a ladder in celeb versions (as long as the celeb doesn't act like they've won when they shouldn't have. Yes, we're looking right at you, Vogue) but I don't think they should use them in the regular show. What if she had 'won'? She'd have gone through when someone more able than her didn't. They should just set a time limit after the winner has finished and if she couldn't do it in the time, just end the event.

Then personally I think it would have been a brilliant win as she did the rope twice and it was only on the third attempt she used the ladder. She also landed really low down on the cargo net and still caught up.

Ah I like Bionic. I saw him on a news report when he talked about the injuries he had as a teenager and why he went into strength training. He seemed like a really nice chap. Wish he’d ditch the peroxide blonde though.

I would very much like to play The Ring with Phantom and Steel both after me but boy have I missed Nitro so much this series, he’s still my favourite.

Athena, Fire and Fury are my favourites of the women. I wish I’d had these kind of role models growing up

Me too about missing Nitro! Watched the first series by myself but this one I am watching with my husband and son. So they aren't familiar with Nitro and I was trying to explain last night just how lovely, sunny and bubbly he is! And imagine him on Unleashed- that would be amazing to see how fast he can run!

First thing they need to do is get rid of those ridiculous lockers room scenes. Would the men and women really be sharing a locker room anyway?

The early seasons of gladiators had a fake gym with a few lockers too but it worked better. They took the presenters in to do interviews if they wanted to cover a topic and didn't pretend it was cctv capturing some natural conversation.

The first time we saw unleashed was amazing. Didn’t know what to expect and then phantom hurtling out - wow! So exciting! Mr muff and I did comment on what a shame nitro was out last season.
