There’s no defending what he said but the fact it made it to air via a whole team of production assistants, editors etc who sign off these programmes just shows how embedded in the industry it is that men can say these things and it just be a great laugh. It emboldens those with slightly dubious intentions that it will be met with laughter and not called out for what it really it. It always shows how hard it is to go against the grain and report this stuff and be taken seriously and not just be told ‘you’re being uptight, it’s just a laugh’
Indeed. Sadly there were some women among the production team for that show.

A headline on Mailonline yesterday claimed Fred was showing support for Gino. Apparently Fred liked G's Insta post but the like was no longer there, so hopefully done in error by Fred or his team, then swiftly reversed.

I'd be very disappointed if Fred's on team Gino, Fred doesn't come across as the desperate, slimy type who'd join in with G's 'banter'. We all know creeps keep comments out of earshot of peers or superiors.

$250AUD is around £130/€150, just for context
I wouldn't pay to see Gino but that's not crazy money for dinner in a (presumably) nice restaurant with "entertainment"
News of him being a perv doesn’t seem to have traveled beyond UK/IRL either based on a conversation about favourite cookbooks I had with a group including people from USA, France, Australia, NZ, South Africa last year!
Indeed not a lot the AUD exchange rate is particularly favourable with GBP currently. My point was, as you've experienced, that his rep seems not to have reached beyond here, incredible in this day and age.

Yep and he turned around and showed his bare arse and then took off a little knitted cock sock in Italian colours… all whilst h and p giggled like little kids, it’s on YouTube 🤢
How was this deemed ok for daytime tv?!
They could have left the apron on if they (ITV) wanted to do this.

Agreed though that it’s behaviour off screen that is triggering complaints and that isn’t a persona for tv.

It is insane to see/remember what was deemed acceptable 20/30 years ago 🤢

There was a headline on Facebook about a crass joke Gino made about Holly and someone replied with this. Honestly my reality and understanding of the world is so far removed from other peoples that I question my judgement of things. Or is it sarcasm??

So glad this isn't a rave thread!

I has the misfortune of being forced to watch an episode of Celebrity Juice once and I was embarrassed at just how immature he is.

Ok they were all immature and Keith Lemon was just as bad but, I dunno, in my national prejudice I expected him to have some degree of dignity and sophistication about him, being an Italian.😄

It was Grouchy Young Men - watched it recently on Apple TV and his comments haven’t been edited out. They will be soon though!
Thanks for clearing this up, I watched it many years ago and also thought he was on Grumpy Old Men. I remember being appalled by what he said. So glad to find others on here that think the same of him as I do. I have a friend who's Italian, he says Gino's accent is totally fake too.

Saw Paul Young supporting Go West a couple of years ago, he has unfortunately, lost his voice and sounded terrible... alot of people retired to the bar to await the main event, as it was painful to listen to Paul Young. It was quite sad.
Agree, his voice has gone, but you can still LOOK at him 😍 he's much better with his tex mex band Los Pacaminos.
