Giles reminds me a bit of Graham Linehan in his feelings of righteous indignation, and that he’s happy to torpedo his TV career because he feels he’s completely justified in calling out a dead woman who insulted him. Esther must be so embarrassed. Although I guess she used to it. She does paid work for the Mail though, or at least she used to. It also means that when Giles gets sacked from The Times (with the change of the Murdoch guard and when Andrew Knight retires) then the Mail won’t be likely to offer him a columnist job. All his TV work is already gone, apart from very occasional appearances on GB News.

Linehan is problematic in many ways, for sure, but he is at least bolstered by a strong belief that men cannot become women and is one of the only few people in 'showbiz' who are prepared to be honest and say it. Coren just lurches from one drunken ramble to another, insulting everyone and anyone who dares to suggest that he is not Christ incarnate. I personally don't see much resemblance.

The neighbour is a fucking boss. To think of all the powerful people who have pandered to Giles over the years (because nepotism), turned a blind eye to his disgusting behaviour, excused him and/or allowed others to bear the brunt of his abuse because they are afraid of his temper/lawyers/deep pockets/connections - this neighbour has really stood up to him and finally there are consequences.

Having a criminal record, even for a caution, is not a small thing. (Less so for a nepo baby with inherited wealth, but still). He’s been exhibiting this sort of abuse for a long time and it’s only getting worse as power (eg career opportunities, status) fades away so next time there’s an incident it will get a lot worse for him.

The neighbour is separately pursuing what he said on the podcast about her as well as seeking an apology so it’s not done yet.

Observing him lose all his TV work and being slowly and silently cancelled is hilariously well deserved, added to the fact that he behaves in the same way again and again and again - abusing an acquaintance of his father, mocking a woman’s premature death, abusing himself with anti-Semitic alt accounts and recently abusing a Daily Mail journalist and bawling out his neighbour - shows he never learns.

I once saw something on Twitter which said “Giles Coren is what happens when nepotism and narcissism have unprotected sex”, which I thought was very apt.

I've long observed Giles Coren with morbid fascination. I think he's what happens when boundless privilege, entitlement and arrogance meets massive insecurity and self hatred. The two halves of his psyche crash against one another like nuclear fusion of hydrogen atoms in the sun, causing endless explosions of anger and spite.

I wonder if he has had/is having a breakdown after losing all his TV work and becoming a social pariah who regularly gets dragged on social media about celebrating Dawn Foster’s death/his anti-Semitic alts/bad sex writing in his failed novel etc.



Also he is possibly the worst example of being the product of an all-boys school. He exhibits absolutely textbook toxic masculinity, entitlement, narcissism, along with his obvious failure to control his temper and tendency to publicly lash out at anyone he perceives as having criticized him.

He was in the same year as Adam Buxton, Joe Cornish and Louis Theroux at Westminster (I think its been mentioned on here before) and as a huge fan of all three, it pleases me endlessly that a) the three of them are all still good friends and pop up in each other's stuff all the time and b) none of them ever deign to even mention him

The comment he made about the neighbour - that he was scared she'd graffiti his house with a swastika - is quite disgusting. Outright saying she is antisemitic.
The whole article puts him in such a terrible light.

I agree his household can’t be a happy one. He’s always been happy throw a tantrum in public, so you can just imagine what he’s like behind closed doors.

I’ll never forget the article he wrote about being addicted to porn, and being caught by his wife wanking over the laptop first thing in the morning while he was supposed to be getting his child ready for school He has no shame whatsoever.

Good for Esther for refusing to let him back in the house. She should think about changing the locks and saving their kids from his disordered personality.

I can’t believe Giles is such a rank hypocrite to suggest that the journalist interrupted his wife’s “day of mourning” (presumably for the victims of terrorism in Israel) when he himself sent her anti-Semitic abuse via his alt Twitter account, and also after he mocked and celebrated Dawn Foster’s premature death, showing no consideration for the fact that her family were in mourning (Dawn’s mum actually Tweeted about how much Giles’s behaviour upset her). What a hypocrite. Giles can certainly dish it but can’t take even the slightest bit of criticism or hold his temper. I imagine poor Esther’s picking up fragments of a smashed IPhone 15 in one of their multiple residences and bandaging his bloody knuckles from punching the Farrow & Ball painted walls.
