Ok... it's my first post ever on this site, let alone about this guy. For the last (maybe) 2 years I've been debating adding my thoughts, I just wasn't sure how it should be written. I mean, the fact is that I see right through the attempts to be 'big-time-influencer-who-specialises-in-florida-content-so-wheres-all-my-free-trips' and shit and it's really getting on my tit-end. Recent events have fuelled this for me. I won't mention why in this post but I can't sit silent and let a perfectly good gossip channel go unnoticed any longer.
The more I see/hear/read the more I get completely frustrated with him (Del). Not so much Jen. And I'm possibly more frustrated with all their fans that just can't see through it. It's beyond me that they don't ask the question: "This cannot be real, right?"
I mean, it's clear you need a thing if you're getting into that industry, but copying, stealing ideas, having a relentless ego is just not a great recipe - so is the problem with me then? I don't think so. I reckon everything they/he does is for an ulterior motive. Natural, authentic, on-screen presence is completely lacking so in my eye, it's ALL all for the clicks. At WHATEVER cost... and I can testify (albeit under an alias). I'll come to that in a moment.
A lot has been said about other vloggers which is the same of him - Looking for attention, putting on an act, looking for any opportunity to get something for nothing. So coupled with the fact that I really love what you Tattlers are about - I've been lurking and reading for so long and without being available to focus my attention on social media, I still share all your concerns that this group of people are not the elite. So this guy must be in your cross-hairs... He's the perfect subject for these sorts of sites. Oh and I obviously want to be clear that I don't condone picking of anyone etc, but I do feel that calling someone out for being utterly fake is worth writing a post on a site like this.
And i suppose that's my first issue with Del... he's not even one of those people that is what he claims to be (I guess he'd say he was a florida vlogger), but fucking hell does he act like it. Then there's this whole catchphrase he's got. the one about doing things that make you happy. Well, 1. I generally dont go around with the intention of doing things to make me unhappy, and 2. stop acting like you invented that idea. But he's there all high and mighty ... I cannot bear it. So, aside from the vlogs (where they are clearly all about views - nothing of substance - the disney proposal TWICE for example... TWICE. fucksake), ALL the comms are centered on getting that level of attention... oh, and the charity work. You see in his Twitter profile that 'raising money for charity' is one of his credentials) or at least it was - he's that sort of person, I almost could guarantee it's still there).
I'll try to wrap up for now... you see, I always check if there's anyone adding a new thing about him but there never is - and I've been busting to tell my story. I think it'll be better for a different time but essentially I used to speak to him regularly until an incident where I just had to cut ties. I'll never confront him over it but fuck me I'll remain bitter... I just stopped taking to him ... and actually, I don't think he even knows what I know.
So, I just figured "right... it's time i posted this shit" and as I'd love to comment elsewhere, but I'm constantly behind on the Brogan, Soph and Dave et al stories... I thought I'd post on a relatively forgotten thread.
Essentially, I'm tried of feeling like the only one who's not under this bizarre self-proclaimed Disney vlogger spell.
