Sorry to butt in on an established thread with possibly an unpopular view but having watched the various Wham docs recently I've come to the conclusion that Shirlie Kemp is absolutely unbearable.
She behaves as if no one knew George better than her or was more loved by him and lords it over Pepsi and even Andrew to the point of rudeness. She just comes across as a professional mourner monetising a relationship that maybe wasn't quite as close as she claims.

I can't say I have ever taken to her - I've always felt she got lucky - she can't dance for toffee, and doubt she can hold much of a tune either. I think the interviews and this recent documentary is showing more of her, and definitely her attitude - she barely let's Pepsi get a word in!

I'd much rather listen to Andrew and Pepsi - have no interest in listening to Shirlie if I'm honest.

I wasn't sure whether to post up, Carefree what's enjoyable to someone, not necessarily with others but for me, I enjoyed it. It covers to them starting out, right through to George's passing. Plenty of snippets from those that were close to him musically too. It did seem that there were plenty that used him for money , incredibly generous with so much.

When I finished it I felt sad - sad for what he had gone through, so much talent and yet was so fearful of how he would be perceived because of his sexuality.

I hope you enjoy it. I'm glad Hubs bought it for me, big brownie points earnt

I went to see a George Michael tribute act last night...Steve Mitchell. He was very good, uncanny how he sounded like George when just chatting normally.

They showed a montage of GM at the end, of him on Parkinson and with James Corden.
And then at the end he said, let's take a minute to remember George.
I found it quite moving.

I watched ' Last Christmas' with my boyfriend last night. He has never heard some of the music before, and was really surprised by some of the songs, especially the one that plays during the ice skating scene.

Tbh before I first saw this film, I mostly associated George with upbeat cheesy pop, and it was the first time I realised he did much more than that. It got me to start looking more into his work.

"Older" is a true masterpiece, every single song and George pretty much did everything himself.
