Very pleased about that court decision, it’s been very telling that over the past few years women have been prosecuted for pretending to be men whereas the other way round they’ve been pandered to.
there’s a documentary called The Girl Who Became Three Boys on one of these cases which I’d recommend because although the story is sad and mad, one of the girls who features heavily in it is amazing. A brilliant and very authentic storyteller that we don’t see all that often these days (I think the doc is about 10 years old now). Her v no people given working class Nan is in it too and is also great.

the whole thing is incredibly sad though as everyone in it comes across as so painfully naive and unprotected.

You know what puts transpeople in danger? Especially TW?

The person they are having sex with suddenly finding that there's a bag of giblets down there, that's what.

Sex by deception is a CRIMINAL OFFENCE. If you deliberately lead someone to believe that you are something other than what or who you are, that is a CRIME. The other person can't give consent to the sexual act if they have been deceived as to your status.

Not that anyone would make a mistake with you, Himdia - you are obviously male. (But then, I wouldn't have thought anyone would make a mistake with that great lump in this court case, so who knows?)
I think I heard on the Blocked and Reported podcast that the stats on trans people being at heightened risk of physical violence are obscured by those who are forced/side-lined into prostitution in countries where those practices are common. TW are likely at particular risk in these scenarios, for the reasons you explain.

Surely there are health and safety implications in expecting a loan woman - in a changing room - with a man with a fetish - having to intimately touch him. Do these companies really think so little of their female staff. It’s not a great look
i honestly think that a big issue is that so many who mindlessly support this stuff don’t realise that it is a fetish. I’ll be honest, I was pretty naive until I started reading here. Now I find it all so disturbing and troubling it’s hard to switch off from it sometimes. I think a lot of it must be generational - younger generations want to be seen as cool and accepting, and are either deeply imbedded in taboo sexual practices or extremely naive to them!

One of my favourite podcasts used to be You’re Wrong About - I was obsessed with it in lockdown. I remember they did an episode on something to do with trans or gender stuff, and one of the presenters went on a rant about how AGP was transphobic and just the latest manifestation of gay men being told they’re gay because they’re attracted to themselves (I’m massively paraphrasing something I listened to probs 3 years ago).

I don’t think I’d heard of AGP at this stage, and was still broadly supportive of the trans cause - I had niggles that I’d wrestle with but tried not to go there tbh. I remember being frustrated that there wasn’t more open discussion on the AGP issue - dismissing it outright as transphobia/homophobia just didn’t make sense to me. So it became another niggle.

That presenter is now a full on TRA and is completely insufferable. His other podcast, Maintenance Phase, really helped me when I was in ED recovery but they did an episode on ROGD that was so condescending and ill-informed that I think it actually helped peak me.

I’ve seen Boob or Bust recommended a lot on some fashion fb groups I’m in for measuring your norks at home.
I was in the boob or bust Facebook group years ago and the admins were very much TWAW. I promptly left.

Can’t get over the self obsessed “not like the other daddies” upthread. He sounds like an insufferable bellend and I hope his poor long suffering partner wises up and chucks him out. Which I’m sure he would blame on transphobia, rather than bellendphobia.

It reminds me of one of my most infuriating experiences in the brave new world of gender exotica. I was at my uncle‘s funeral, and without going into too much unnecessary detail, I was at the tail end of 18 months that had nearly broken me with Greek tragedy levels of loss, bereavement, illness and complete life overwhelm, of which my uncle dying was a sad part.

I travelled to the funeral which was in a famously woke town. I was standing outside the chapel of rest with my aunt (uncle’s first wife), with whom he had remained close, and who had been very close to my own (very recently deceased) parents, and my uncle‘s partner, who had looked after him before his death, both of whom were grieving, but stoically putting on a good face. Now, I had previously noticed that there was a person hovering around near us, a six foot 2 burly fella, who I had immediately swerved as he was wearing (I wish I was making this up, but sadly I’m not) a basque, skin tight leggings and, thankfully, an extremely frumpy waterfall cardie covering up much of the horror. He had straggly pink hair and the reason I’d immediately headed in the opposite direction was that I’d smelled him from metres away- he was emitting unwashed, fusty vapours.

It started to rain, and my aunt remarked that she’d forgotten her brolly, then spying Mr Basque, she said “oh good, here’s a man with a brolly”, and I knew, I just bleeping knew what was going to happen next.

“Not a man, actually” he said. And god bless my Aunt, she just stared right through him, then turned away and said “Ah, here’s Annabelle, she’s got a brolly”, and walked off. I saw at this point that, as if he wasn’t off putting enough, he also had a total of maybe three teeth.

It got worse at the wake, I don’t know what it is about nutters, but my face attracts them and this whiffy hole started repeatedly tried to glom onto me. He started complaining that the buffet wasn’t vegan and gluten free, to which I responded “oh, isn’t it?” And walked off. He kept trying to engage me in conversation, I found out that he’d met my uncle a couple of times through a voluntary activity. Evemtually I’d had enough and just said to him “Look, I don’t care. I don’t know why you’re telling me any of this”. He then lurked round giving me daggers until he left.

Who does that? Who shows up to a funeral and behaves like that? Decides that it’s the perfect opportunity to educate elderly recently widowed women on pronouns? I keep him in mind when anyone is urging me to Be Kind or Protect The Dolls or whatever inanity is urged on us. I think of this guy, and that’s who’s benefit all of this is is being enacted upon us.

TL:DR- I was at a funeral when somebody literally did this.

Gender ideology has got to be the most self-centred trend ever to have been foisted upon us. No other popular movement has ever tried to elicit and enforce the participation of others in the way the trans movement does. I’m utterly sick of this cult and its enablers.

This happened to a Jewish friend of mine recently too. He's in his 60s and went to the shiva for an elderly uncle who had died. He said a cousin of similar age to him turned up in a dress declaring he was now a woman and making this the time to come out to the entire family and attention seeking for acceptance. He said the cousin's grown up children looked really embarrassed about what their father was doing.
It's just extreme narcissism.

I don’t know if there is a narcissism scale, but if there is, this man must be near the top. A man who felt sad about being unable to centre himself above his newly born twins who needed special care and his partner who had just given birth. He was very upset that his non-binaryness was not recognised by all the health professionals involved and bemoaned the fact that he didn’t have a special name by which people could refer to him as he felt neither male nor female and didn’t want to be misgendered as ‘dad’.
I could barely get through this article for the amount of times my eyes rolled! I feel so sorry for the kids (and his wife tbh)

I was reminded yesterday of Rachel Dolezal - woman who, about ten years ago, became the subject of widespread ridicule and controversy for falsely claiming to be African American. She attempted to present herself as a person of color by darkening her skin with makeup and styling her hair in braids and weaves.

As a result, she was forced to resign from her leadership role in the NAACP and also lost positions she held in academia and on a police oversight commission.

Though how is this situation fundamentally different from men who claim to be women? In Dolezal’s case, society quickly rejected her claims and held her accountable. Yet today, men who identify as women are often accepted into positions, including leadership roles and board seats, in organisations intended to represent and support women.

Why was one case dismissed as fraudulent while the other has not only been permitted but, in many cases, encouraged?

This has got me thinking to my first encounter with a TIM back in the 80’s when I was a student. Clearly male, but used a female name. We were all uncomfortable around him, but he was probably typical of a lot of transsexuals of the time. Awkward, dressed in frumpy clothes and not in the least bit trying to look sexy, didn’t draw attention to himself or really engage with the rest of us, unless he had to. There were no demands for affirmation or being told he was brave and stunning, just a very mixed up individual trying to get on with things as low key as possible. Clearly had a lot of issues and I heard that he had later decided to detransition.
Compare him to the TIM of the present day. Demanding to be affirmed, aggressive and intimidating, having to be fawned over and being the centre of attention. Openly flaunting their fetish in public and trying to bully women into validating them. It shows how things have moved from the gender dysphoria/mentally unwell TIM who just wanted to live their lives to the TIM of present day who are the most self absorbed exhibitionists who want to make everything about me, me ME.

Interesting post about the 80's TIM, I remember some characters like this.

I think if you had a Time Machine and transported these mentally ill men from the 80's to the present day, they would be exactly the same as all the other men - demanding that they are affirmed with female pronouns and demanding access to women's safe spaces.

Trans id'd men are emboldened these days because they are more accepted and platformed.
In my view, the TIMs have not changed - they are still mental ill men with a fetish - but the current climate has given them free rein to largely do as they please, which was completely socially unacceptable for 80's TIMs.

That’s an interesting point. At the time, he was seen as odd and we were all very wary. Without going into too much detail, trans issues aside, he was the strangest person I’ve ever come across generally and clearly had a lot else going on. I think he was generally mentally very unwell rather than a fetishist but who knows.
What I do remember is that he was avoided by the other students and had all sorts of nicknames that the TRA of today would have us all condemned as the most hateful Nazi bigots ever. As you say, back in the 80s it was socially unacceptable and condemned as what it was, creepy and weird. I think we all kept out of his way as much as possible.

As far as I'm concerned, it's no different.

I don't if it's cause I'm old but I think society has changed. Its no longer about "the truth" its now about "my truth". And domeyines these are very different.

I read about transwomen being included in an Australian study of maternity support and still births. I mean what precisely can transwoman contribute to that conversation??? Nothing!!! Absolutely nothing!!! But they still want included. Why??? Cos they're narcissistic nutjobs.

The bit I read also said it didn't include transmen cos they were men!!!

Biological reality needs to be reinforced and these gits need to be told you can dress how you like, call yourself what you like, like how you like (as long as its law abiding) but you will never, ever be a "real" woman!!!

Yes, black face is rightly condemned yet woman face is seen as acceptable and even applauded. It’s exactly the same thing, appropriation of something that you will never be.

She was stupid enough to allow herself to be impregnated by him.
I wonder how long before he realised that his female partner was going to be the centre of attention for months, until the birth of his twins, when the attention would (rightly) be focused on them? So many of these men seem to have a real problem when they're not the centre of everyone's universe, and it's telling when you realise how many of them suddenly discover their "feminine" side when children come along. Although they're rarely feminine enough to take over the child-rearing, housework and general drudgery that actual women do every single day 🙄

Christ Almighty
I'm surprised that there appears to be "no evidence of grape" when the child was only 12. Even if brute force wasn't used, this is statutory grape of a minor, surely? No 12 year old looks adult enough to agree to sex.

And of course, he's wheeling out the old faithfuls of the defence - ADHD and "I'm trans". And the "I forgot how old she was even though she told me umpteen times and I put it in my phone" tosh should be laughed out of court, as should the "she bullied me by saying I looked like a man." there's a reason for him looking like a man, isn't there?

If you ask me the main cause of transgenderism in men isn't having a woman's brain in a man's body - it's getting caught in an act of sexual violence and/or perversion.

FFS! I wish the law would see this and chuck the book at these vile predators - and make them serve their time in the appropriate SEX prison. Never mind that these delicate flowers are so at risk - so are a lot of other men; young men, homosexual men, small men, weak men., mentally vulnerable men - the list goes on. What was the old saying ? "If you can't do the time, don't do the crime."

guys.
