This will have zero impact on most transgender people's lives.

If you pass, the entire debate is redundant because presumably nobody clocks you.

If you don't pass, everyone already knows you aren't the sex you identify as and you're fooling nobody.

The only difference is the biggest gobshites can't legally can't bully women anymore. If you're living a quiet, normal life that doesn't involve barging into women's spaces demanding a standing fucking ovation, then it's not an issue.

And the irony is a lot of people in this thread and who fought this campaign would have helped and supported them.

It's boiling my piss that this was a ruling about what is a woman and still all we're hearing about is fucking men and that people I admire/friends with on social media are posting stuff that imply I want to kill all trans people when all I want is for women to be left the fuck alone.
I wouldn't have helped them. Men can fight their own battles and young women should be dissuaded from transition and brought into feminist consciousness.

Lesbians spent YEARS fighting for, fundraising for and caring for gay men during AIDS crisis and what did we get? Lots of gay men shafting us when some of their brethren and a whole bunch of AGPs decided they were women.

The whole thing is so incredibly fucked up that if this ever does become a ‘thing’, I would take my name off the donor register
I've already told old man Pegs that if it becomes a thing, no one is getting my womb. They can have my eyes, my lungs, my liver, my kidneys, my heart (although he said no one would want that shriveled up black lump but they'd be fighting over my overactive bile duct). But they ain't getting my womb.
It's dangerous territory, I'm sick of babies being treated as something that everybody is entitled to. Whether that's by surrogacy or implanting another woman's womb. I don't know the pain of not being able to have children but I do know that there are loads of children waiting for adoption. My amazing nieces were adopted and they've had a fantastic life after a shitty start. There are alternatives to having your own biological children (sorry if that upsets anyone going through infertility, it's just how I feel)

I have goosebumps all the way over here in Oz. Big high 5s from my small lady-sized hand to all of you.
I just hugged my cat Susan as she's the only other gal in the house.

I can’t believe we needed a Supreme Court to rule that a biological woman is a woman. I cannot even begin to imagine how much money and how many resources have been wasted.
I will use this as further ammunition to push back on being called “cis”. I am a woman, that’s my biological sex.

Coming back to the womb transplant thing. I’ve put my finger on exactly what makes me feel so uncomfortable about it. It’s the whole concept that if a woman has a womb that’s never going to be used again, it’s fair game to consider her basically as just spare parts. It’s considered acceptable and ethical to permanently damage her body purely for someone else’s gain. Every surgery has risks and can have long lasting consequences. Shes likely to need long term medication, the risk of urinary and bowel problems, but carrying out such invasive surgery is seen as OK? Basically, her health doesn’t matter.
Meanwhile, women with gynae issues have to live with it and I’ve heard of women suffering from endometriosis begging for surgery and being turned down.

I'm sure that no-one will be surprised to hear about more panicking and attempted suppression from NHS Fife: they are trying to ban the public from the next hearing of the Sandie Peggie tribunal on the grounds of the technical problems that ensued with so many people wanting to join in. They want access to be limited to accredited journalists - specifically excluding Tribunal Tweets:

Surely the solution to the technical problems and interruptions is to prevent all online listeners from being able to activate their mics or cameras? That can't be beyond the wit of the technical team. But not surprising that NHS Fife are trying to take advantage of the situation to try to essentially hold the rest of the hearing behind closed doors to attempt to save face.
As for NHS Fife, no wonder they want to keep the next stage of the hearing quiet, they’ve fucked up repeatedly, stand by a doctor who hasn’t a clue what biological sex means and made idiots of themselves in front of the world.
The hospital at the centre of the case is hardly coming out looking good in other areas. https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/new...ty-contamination-victoria-hospital-kirkcaldy/

Problem is for so many years we've been fed the line that transwomen are vulnerable and transwomen are attacked on a regular basis, transwomen are slaughtered in the hundreds of thousands ad infinitum from just about every direction. I'm not surprised some people think it's true and that they aren't a danger to anyone. If you see TiMs as being the stereotypical effeminate gay man - because that's the narrative that's pushed by the likes of the Guardian - which many do, then it's not a leap to assume they're harmless. And when you think like that, it's easy to write off big burly Dave in his baby pink ears skirt as either a figment of the Daily Mail's imagination or some nefarious bloke up to no good (rather than being the fucking norm as we well know).
I just wish for once these people were held to account and actually made to look at the MoJ stats for violent and sexually motivated trans criminals.

Slightly OT (aren't I always?): My personal peeve at the mo is every time there's a story about a paedophile, the comments are awash with "And not a drag queen in sight" or "I'd leave my kids with a drag queen before I left them with a priest" Do they not see that having this kind a sacred caste is how priests were able to get away with the level of abuse they did for so many years? Create a demographic that are untouchable, and abusers will join them. Gah!

The phrase 'chest feeding' makes my skin crawl. It's breastfeeding. It brings to mind some hairy ape of a man trying to lactate.

I do wonder after today how many transwomen will suddenly decide they no longer want to transition now they will no longer be able to take over women's spaces.

Shon Faye quoting Victoria McCloud who claims that the court didn't hear from any trans women and how awful that is because it only affects them, I mean it affects everyone, we're talking about biological sex which everyone has but I find it funny they left out transmen

Also - I can't remember any women being on the committees when the trans stuff was pushed through everywhere. Just men and transwomen. Where were the women's voices then?

Just some more transperbole. I’ve literally voted Labour every Genny Lex since I was 18 (some regrets about that choice last year now) but sure wanting women’s spaces to be for women and women only makes me a fascist.

There is no trans debate. There are women, and there are misogynist men who wish to define and control the parameters of womanhood, as they have since time immemorial.

I'm not going to post it because it's in a private group chat with colleagues and I want to be careful bot to triangulate myself, but one colleague has just ranted about the ruling and said their trans'woman' friend is feeling possibly suicidal because of it.
( despite them not even being a Brit or in the UK, they are American) 🤔 Once again, biology/women's rights are thrown under the bus because a trans'woman' man is getting hurty feelings because actual women have now got a legal clarification of the scientific truth that has existed since the dawn of mammals existing 🙄

If they are legit feeling suicidal then they need to seek help, and then get help to look at the underlying cause of their mental illness. Why should women and girls' safety on wards, in toilets, at school, etc etc be sacrificed for 0.1% of the mentally ill?

I can't be arsed with all the weaponised hurty feelings crap, and now my colleague's post has lots of heart/crying emoji reactions. I think I am going to log out of the internet for the rest of the evening because this is ridiculous.

💜🤍💚
Typical crybully hyperbole - "do what I say or I'll kill myself".

I was always very empathetic, having had mental health struggles of my own, but I'm long since past the point where instrumental and manipulative suicide threats have any impact on me. It's typical abuser behaviour. And let's be honest, the majority of men don't give a flying fuck about the misery that has been handed down to women on account of our sex for generations, so I'm loathe to give a fuck about their feelings on this issue.

A rare common sense ruling in today's world :)

This one thread existing is the cause of so many death threats against me (being the most visible mod) and this thread is often called vile hate speech.
I’m really sorry to hear that.

Thank you so much for giving us a space to chat freely. I really appreciate it.

I know MN like to pat themselves on the back for giving women a space on there to talk about women’s rights to single sex spaces but in reality they’ve strangled a lot of conversations through their endless pandering to men who don't like women talking.

I joined tattle to laugh at grifters and never expected it to be a haven for fantastic terf conversation! 🥂

Also I’ve sent a card - let’s make the postie have to get the van out to deliver them all!

All the TRAs crying about the erasure of TW because the word woman doesn't refer to them, but they didn't think that biological women were erased by 'birthing people' and 'uterus owners'
May I like this post one million times! That's what kept running through my head today.

The way that women were just expected to bow down and accept men in their spaces. The fact that in workplaces, for example, the women had to make way for the men in dresses to be in their changing rooms and toilets, because they were suddenly under threat. Why were the men not being told to be kind to their fellow men. 🙄

Women - the real deal, actual women - have been so forgotten and pushed aside by all of this trans bullshit.
How dare any man think that they can become a woman just by donning a dress and some make up. 🤬

I saw a post on another forum and I know the poster had to be a man. 'I have no issue with transwomen socially' said he. Before I could ask if he would date one and have sex with them, he had amended the post.

Anyway, having a nice chilled glass of wine here in honour of this momentous occasion. Cheers. 🥂
