Bits from this week’s The Word is Woman. Kept the bit of Milli’s new puppy at the end in the hope seeing a puppy face would cheer us all up a bit after reading this nonsense
This really pissed me off, particularly the menopause stuff. So I went onto NICE to find they are well and truly captured, which means that the NHS will remain captured.

Still, at least they are consistent in their ludicrousness. If you didn’t know otherwise, you’d be forgiven for concluding that anyone could have a prostate.

Just sat through a work meeting (unspecified but notoriously woke industry), that started with a pronoun round (I declined to participate and moved the conversation elsewhere when it was my turn) and duck me I’m so annoyed.

she/thems abounded, with an almost perfect overlap with those who have also in other contexts told me that they are “queer”.

They all have boyfriends. They are women with boyfriends who- for whatever stereotypes are worth- wear skirts and make up, enjoy typically female-coded pursuits etc etc.

Why do they do this? Why the duck are they like this?

I checked out when the meeting segued into a discussion about how a particular group of them had changed an activity that they did from being proudly woman-focused to being focused on “women and minoritised genders” and how they’d got backlash about it and how awful it was. They were also head scratching that their activity (sorry, I’m still being vague) had “inexplicably” suffered a drop in popularity, although they had gained more public funding, after they made this change.

ducked off with the whole thing. Can’t be bothered. Now drinking a daiquiri and contemplating my life choices.

If they find out I’m a terf, I’m ducked, tbh. This industry is all freelance and reputation based. I’ve got away with it so far but I feel like it’s a matter of time.

I’m not at all sure that you can be an AGP without having an inherent idea that women are inferior or subordinate to men in some way - it somehow seems to be built in to the concept as the main turn-on.
I also disagree that everyone has a ‘kink’. Lots of people are quite capable of having sexual experiences and desires without needing something non conventional or deviant from the norm to focus on. The slightly derogatory term for this is ‘vanilla’ I suppose.

I’m a bit confused. If Trans are already being genocided out of existence why are they so freaked out about Trump. If there a level above Genocide he will take them to?
Perhaps they should just accept that evolution has had enough of them - like the dinosaurs.

You could be me! Also freelance in woke industry. Had to bite my tongue in a meeting yesterday when it was declared that trans people were worst affected by trump. Not reproductive rights or immigrant communities.

BIB - Keeping my fingers crossed that this time they aren't exaggerating.

Honestly the sheer mass tantrumming around the US election result just shows how fragile and cultish this whole thing is. Calls to leave the country, to stockpile cross sex hormones, to fast track passports. It’s absurd.

And who do they think will have them? Tranada I guess. Because Europe and Latin America don’t want the idle unemployable narcs

What enrages me about this kind of thing is the time and money being spent making all these changes, to accommodate the *feelings* of some mentally ill individuals.

Yeah, I don't have a kink.
I think that has been normalised though and people, obviously women are shamed for not going along with it.

Yes, I’ve noticed how women are now shamed for being “too vanilla”, “pearl clutching” etc for not consenting to certain acts or kinks. Even women pile on those who have firm boundaries. We’re expected to “be kind” to some p in a dress yet it’s OK to shame women who don’t want to engage in dangerous, even life threatening sexual acts.

Exactly.

And correct me if I'm wrong but up to recently, women were largely expected to just suffer through the menopause. Until these men who pretend to be women took over, and only then was there any attention paid to it. 🙄

Yes, remember teen Vogue and their article on anal sex?
I'm also noticing the poly thing getting more popular, more men into it, and it's one man but more than one woman of course.

I have a few years before I have to deal with this hopefully but I will be having to have the mortifying talk to my girls about how boundaries in sex are so personal and important and must not be violated. Honestly I was dating in the 90s and 2000s and often absolute mats let’s be fair, but no one tried to choke me, no one ever made me try something after I said no and while I put myself in some sketchy situations I emerged unscathed. Consent is such a low bar; it should be enthusiasm at all times otherwise why are you bothering? I’m worried about the young men of the world too.

I'm on a work training course next week. Had an email about it from the organiser, Bradley Jones, with the brackets (he/him/his).

It's going to be tit, isn't it?

A couple of years ago now they gave people the options of doing pronouns. I would say 5% of workforce did, mainly EDI, mainly women and entirely redundant as no one was anything other than expected: no theys seen thus far.

At this point, nothing has changed, but I’ve noted the young ones coming in have not bothered. I think it’s gradually dripping away, the pride month nonsense was less this year too.
