What I can't understand about Amnesty and the Green Party etc is that they're putting the trans thing above their original purpose. Fair enough add it into the mix if you really believe it but if it's actively interfering with and getting ahead of your true purpose then that makes no sense. Imagine it's more important to Amnesty to promote trans ideology than to properly stand up for Afghan women and trans rights are more important to the green party than the environment. It has such a strong grip on its believers.

I also think gender critical beliefs are not partisan and both left wing and right wing women can be accommodated as part of the gender critical movement.

I’m Australian and this makes me RAGE. I feel so powerless, how can this judge just strip away our rights?! I wish I knew what I could do to stand up to it

I actually feel more depressed than I thought I'd be about this judgment. That a judge can actually say that case law has consistently found that sex is 'changeable and not necessarily binary', without any qualification is mindboggling. Case law can say whatever it wants, but the reality is that biological sex is not changeable and is indeed binary.

Whilst I am sure that this will go to an appeal, the prospect is actually frightening because there's a possibility that the higher courts will uphold the judgment which will then hold implications for similar cases everywhere including in this country. I feel like the stakes are becoming greater

I feel so sad, angry and genuinely bewildered. I'm so glad that I found this thread because without you all, I think that I would lose my mind over this.

Because that hatred stems from fear. They fear that we won't/don't swallow the propaganda that patriarchy spews about how we're weak and dependent upon men. They fear strong women. They fear feminism.

I've noticed that even the most reasonable, well adjusted man can get angry and dismissive when feminism is brought up in conversation. When I was discussing with a male friend how distressing the frequency of women being murdered by men was, he actually said "Yeah, well men have done more for science than women."

I was shocked that a normally sensitive and intelligent man that I've known for well over 30 years would say something so brutally misogynistic and horrible. We aren't friends anymore, I blocked his number and won't answer his emails.
Sad to lose a friend I have so many memories with but that showed me the real him.

It's actually one of the most disgusting things I've seen in this whole debacle. What those women are going through is horrendous and it's got nothing to do with some made up identity in their heads. It's all based on biology.

They changed it last year it seems. Last year, women were oppressed because we were born female. This year, we can just identify out of it.

I think as reasonable humans we understand that interference in nature is a balance of risks, all medicine is a balance of risk of treatment against risk of no treatment. Surgery is a risk, usually it is less than not having it. Cosmetic surgery is a risk, but the reward is considered worth it and sometimes - like Kanye’s mum, people die after liposuction. Cancer drugs also cause horrible side effects to the point sometimes people choose quality of life. Puberty blockers have always had horrific side effects, they are used for precocious puberty when weighed up against the effect of letting very small children go through puberty. Everyone knows they cause harm as part of the treatment. so the gotcha of ‘they are safe to use as we use them for ‘cis’ kids’ is bollocks.

Using Lupron to treat a mental illness is deranged. These kids are losing IQ points, their brains will not fully develop. The BMA council are overturning the basis of their profession, the Hippocratic oath, doctors should be horrified.

This is it. Embracing the trans bollocks is an easy diversity tick box for corporations. Much more so than addressing institutional sexism, racism, homophobia or disabled access.

The idea that people have an inherent right to a baby is the issue. Infertility is truly heartbreaking, however I can’t reconcile that all people should be provided with a baby however possible. It’s not fair, life is not fair, and we all know this but a lot of people don’t accept it and then we get the indulgence of men pretending to be women, when they can’t. I think gay men can be wonderful fathers, but the idea of two men renting a woman and then taking her child away, is horrible to me. There will be trauma no matter how much them love the child. My father left when I was a baby, I don’t remember him being with us, I feel the loss still. Families come in many shapes and sizes but to deny the loss of birth parents is very traumatic for the children.
