Hi @Shinythings I appreciate that you’ve stuck around because I know it can feel like a lot when everyone is @-ing you and most of us are on pretty much the same page regarding these issues and when you’re not 100% there, it might feel like a pile on. I completely understand where you’re at regarding wanting to be kind and respectful to ‘genuine trans’. Women are so conditioned to be nurturing and thoughtful, even when it’s detrimental to ourselves. I’ve been there! Maybe it’s getting older and realising that men will continue to exploit and abuse women no matter how kind we are, but I truly don’t believe that women’s rights and trans rights can truly co-exist. Because there isn’t a grey area when it comes to sex. You’re one or the other, and by muddying the waters with the idea we can change, or step out of the binary, it becomes impossible to give either trans or women the rights that they want. And I’m going to choose women every time. I’ll treat people with respect, men, women, trans. But I won’t give up my rights for a man, simply because he says he’s a woman. I won’t be subjugated to a man, even if he is wearing a dress.

I'm probably gonna cop a lot of hate for this, but I genuinely want to try to understand why one is accepted and the other isn't.
So would anyone like to wade in on this....
Why is it that men can simply put on a dress, do their make up/hair and nails and claim to be a woman, and demand to be accepted as one by society, but if a white person was to step out and claim they identified as a black person (looking at you Rachael Dolezal!) and started braiding their hair and using fake tan and what not - they'd be dragged within an inch of their lives and cancelled quicker than a subscription at the end of a free trial.
Surely a person's race is as inherent as their sex/gender. You cannot change or chose your race, so how/why is it acceptable to change/choose your gender?
You can identify a 1000 year old skeleton as male or female via DNA sequencing, right? But you can't determine a skeletons skin colour or race. You can get some pointers on ethnicity from DNA but it's not as accurate or as cut and dry as biological sex.
So how come it's acceptable to change something that is literally in our DNA (for at least 99.8% of us anyway) but it's not acceptable to claim to be another race/ethnicity which isn't detectable/definable in DNA?
I've put this question to people before and they've said "it's because a white person could never understand the struggles of a black person". And that's fair enough, I agree with that completely. But by the same token, how is a person who was born and raised a male (in some cases married a woman and fathered children, had successful careers/social lives etc while identifying as a man) be in any way able to understand the struggles of a woman and the true experience of being a female?
To my mind - they can't. So why do we continue to see so many people attacked for appropriating other people's cultures, while folks who are born men are allowed to masquerade as women willy-nilly (pun intended!)? Surely transgenderism (especially the 'performative type' as we're seeing so much these days) is simply just another form of cultural appropriation?
And why is it the ones who shout the loudest are always transwomen, and rarely transmen? Why are so many transwomen taking things so ridiculously far by claiming they're buying tampons and experiencing period cramps? This is surely mental illness and should not be supported, let alone encouraged and celebrated.
I mean, where's the transman version of Dylan Mulvany or India Willoughby? Has anyone ever seen a transman claiming they're out buying condoms, getting blue balls or booking in to getting their prostate checked? I've not seen it (yet) because it seems to me that transmen just get on with it, and keep their shit to themselves....

The thing is all of the making concessions to trans people has now been proven all to be part of the same whole.
I used to be pretty supportive of trans people, bought into the 'born in the wrong body' stuff, used preferred pronouns, said that TWAW. I was kind and supportive in other words.
Where did that get (not just me but women generally) us?
- males in our toilets and changing rooms - they don't want their own third space as they want validation
- males in our sports
- males including sex offenders in our prisons
- people being forced to lie and use pronouns they know to be incorrect or accused of being a bigot
- threats of violence - not IRL but online I have been told I should be punched in the face for being a TERF
- being called bigots if we express concerns about any of the above or about things like children being deprived of fertility or sexual function through 'transitioning'
- losing our jobs and/or being doxxed online.
- being told we are a subset of our own sex ie cisgender
- being told that we are the oppressors of these people and that men in dresses are a marginalised vulnerable group
- gaslit and forced to accept the lies produced by our media including the ones that we fund that violent murderers, animal abusers and rapists are women
- called bigots for simply believing the evidence of our own eyes and ears
- told that men are better at being women than women cf the 'trans women's breastmilk' story last week
- lesbians being called bigots because they don't want to fuck someone with a cock
And these are just a few examples.
This all came because we were 'kind' and 'supportive'. It's all been fucked for the 'genuine trans people' by their own side frankly.
Are you kidding? ‘Isla Bryson’ or should we say Adam Graham, purposely claimed a trans identity AFTER he raped two women, with the sole purpose of being put into a women’s prison, where he could rape more women! And it almost worked! Even the first minister of Scotland Humza Yousaf said he was ‘at it’ meaning LYING. While he was waiting trial Adam enrolled in a beauty course at Ayrshire College where he had access to other female students naked while he spray tanned them and massaged them. They were uncomfortable but were too scared to speak up because of accusations of transphobia. He absolutely used his ‘gender identity’ to his advantage. I’d think a little bit more deeply before coming to the defence of a trans ‘woman’ RAPISTS defence.
Shiny things - 2 women a week are murdered at the hands of a man in England and Wales. God knows the stats on assaults. It’s violence against women and girls that you should be outraged by. Maybe you are? But you’ve repeatedly stated about trans people being attacked but it is nowhere near the level that women are subjected to.
With regards to trans people having their own spaces, have you not seen all the gender neutral toilets about?? The point is trans women don’t want a third space, because they literally think they are women and have a right to be in the ladies loos and changing rooms. It solves nothing but does cause distress eg when theatres have gender neutral toilets meaning women (and children) have to walk past men using urinals, or schools having them and girls avoiding using them when they are on their period because they don’t want to wash blood off their hands in front of boys. There are so many consequences of the whole movement, it effects so many, it goes above being ‘kind’. Meanwhile there are disabled people who still can’t go into certain spaces as it’s not suitable due to no lifts, wheelchair access etc. if the powers that be put as much importance on disability as they do fragile male egos in dresses, we’d be in a much better place than we currently are.

Can we stamp out the idea that women are to provide support to men? If transwomen don't feel safe in the men's spaces, take it up with the men. Women don't want men in women's spaces, end of.
