I left the suburbs and went on a city break to SW England with a high student population (clue: rhymes with Darth if you’re from the SE

). I saw three TIMs in one day.
#1 was a classic AGP/cross dresser. Dolled up to the nines in a vintage-y outfit. Wig and too many accessories. All the cliches rolled into one. Walked like a bloke.
#2 was working at a tourist attraction wearing the very dowdy female uniform of skirt and blouse. Make up and hair very Robert Smith. Definitely wasn’t trying as hard to “pass” as #1
#3 creeped me out. I saw two women clowning around at a bus stop. Their behaviour was weird enough to draw my attention to them. The taller one had the smaller ones’s wrists in their hands, forcing their arms to wave around erratically, the way you might try to entertain a toddler. I genuinely found myself thinking unkind thoughts about zoomers and how they infantilise themselves

Then the taller one turned around so I could see their face and I realised it was a man, not a woman. Wasn’t trying hard to pass in jeans and t shirt (the colour and cut of the t shirt, plus the long hair, was what made me initially think they were a young woman). Instantly clocked their small but very pointy hormone induced boobs and no bra
Just made me realise how widespread this all is in cities and amongst young people. I found it quite confronting in a way, because I’m so used to seeing this stuff online, but never in my face out in public (because I live a very boring, sheltered life and prefer it that way).
