So y'all remember the Sunderland church that decided that following the law wasn't for them? They said that women should ask staff to accompany them to the toilets if they had concerns about sharing them with men. Well, turns out that the church's trustees aren't so gung-ho about breaking the law so there has been a swift reverse ferret.

This is surely a situation where thoughts and prayers are greatly needed.

The Church Times, the leading ‘independent’ Anglican newspaper in the UK published an article about this yesterday which demonstrates the CoE’s adherence to trans ideology, which is interesting given that if you profess to the follow the Bible, it specifically warns against false ideologies and doctrines, e.g:

Something I've been mulling over this morning...
All these organisations who are reluctant to follow the law, aren't they - in essence - saying "We know that transpeople will break the law and use which facilities they want, so we don't want to have to police this"
Isn't that a little bit, well, transphobic? To assume that an entire demographic are not going to follow the law. Imagine making an assumption like that about Chinese people.

I’m an atheist, so I find religious beliefs difficult to fathom at the best of times, but the above is especially baffling to me. Those who accept trans ideology but also believe in God are essentially saying “God got it wrong, but I know better”.

Thank you. Canon Clare has indeed had her a handed to her - on a plate, garnished with parsley and with a side order of chips and onion rings.

I had only been half looking forward to visiting Sunderland Minster to make several (accompanied) trips to the toilet (I have a very dicky bladder, and IBS, and need frequent loo trips). The proposal that a volunteer accompany an ADULT to the toilet is both crass and humiliating (for visitors and volunteers alike, but I would have done it to show the unworkability of the scheme. Glad it won't be necessary.

I'm sure Cannon Clare, her clergy and volunteers will gladly accompany TIMs to the men's to ensure they are safe if they feel uncomfortable knowing other men will be using them! I expect there's fewer TIMs than women parishioners so it won't be as time consuming this way round.

Jesus Christ! That’s horrifying. He doesn’t think he’s a bloke, of course, not that you;d know that from the BBC report. She is of course a stunning brave lady, standing resolute in the face of a genocidial rampage led by schoolgirls. Wonder why the BBC is colluding in deadnaming? Or is he just CriminalGender now, so all bets are off, à la Sturgeon?
