I think a lot of that is true, for sure. People whose daily lives involve more physical realities are definintely more prone to get it.
My husband, though, and a large chunk of male friends who also get it, get it through other means. One is gay and the prospect of his dating pool including confused girls appals him. The others, though they are desk jockeys in knowledge jobs, get it because they are the sort of men who actually like women, value us, see as as fully human. My husband and best straight male friend are like this - iis a large part of why I love them. Husband is rugby playing working class son of immigrants done good in life, but he has always hated locker room talk and display masculinity. so for him it was really easy to listen to what women say when we talk about problematic male behaviour, and to him, those males thinking they’re women doesn’t change that he sees them as exactly the boundary violaters he’s happy to call out elsewhere. He’s the guy who stands up to mates on stag dos and refuses to go to the strip club. He’s been kicked out of lads group chats for calling out misogyny. So I think that’s also a good basis for getting it.
So there are many ways to skin this cat.
Sorry, I am rambly this morning I accidentally had a smoothie with caffeine and I think that in combination with usual coffee, I’m around 4 double espressos in
