I've lurked here for a couple of months now and I was hesitant to make an account but I finally decided to join because I can't take this nonsense anymore. Yesterday I reported this post on tumblr for encouraging violence/hate speech:

I recieved an e-mail saying they recieved my report and would assess whether or not they'll take action. I checked and the post is still up right now. which means they did absolutely nothing. I guess I should have expected as much from tumblr, home of the woke. If I were to copy and paste the entire post and replace the word terf with trans I'd probably get banned and get bombarded with death threats but apparently wishing death on women who don't share your opinion is a perfectly acceptable and reasonable thing to do I've decided to boycott tumblr because I don't want any part of a site that wraps those people in bubble wrap whilst accepting vile vitriol and death threats against women. I've already boycotted reddit too. At this rate there won't be anywhere left where it's safe to have a gender critical opinion.

This makes me so angry - the overwhelming majority of transwomen have the ability to reproduce a biological child - I get so annoyed when they talk about 'infertility' and 'being infertile' - they have no idea what it means to be actually infertile (unless they a - have an issue with their sperm or b - were put on puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones before gaining the ability to reproduce).

Why the fuck should uterus transplants be a priority for anything other than women who have had to have hysterectomies for medical reasons?
Why do men think having a uterus put in there without any of the other organs will make them able to carry a child? This is a lie and science fiction they are being sold. There are so many changes that a woman’s body does naturally when a child is growing which is why women are still needed to create human life. I cannot believe these people spout this shit as if it’s a possibility.

These topics can make me wary as they’re so often highjacked by people with conservative agendas however, I’m 5ft tall so there are limitations to what I can do as a job due to my height. One example is cabin crew, which I LOVED the idea of being as a child. My stature means I won’t be able to reach things on board so this is simply something I can’t do - I’m not discriminated against or hard done by because I can’t do that one thing. If you’re transitioning (which I want to give anybody who needs it the ability to do this) then surely it comes with the odd downside of certain jobs being out of reach. This surely pales in comparison to being able to live as you were meant to?

Hi ladies, I've been a long time silent follower
I opened up my eyes to these issues last year when everyone attacked JK Rowling for her tweet and started doing my own research and stumbled on these threads. I just wanted to say I have learnt so much from here and the articles, tweets and media links you all share and I'm at a point where I can now confidently speak about these issues to friends and family.

Just today I received a message from a colleague (on my personal social media) in response to my sharing of the Emma Hilton tweet regarding Nina Manumua. He, a white man, was telling me, a WOC (the irony) how I was being insensitive by labelling Laurel Hubbard a man. As far I'm aware, he is biologically a man. I stood my ground - but it did make me feel like am I wrong in this?

Lastly, I agree so much with the below comment from @Doc. I'm sorry but I'm not compromising my own beliefs in the same way that TRAs are not compromising theirs whilst trying to erase my identity as a (born biological) woman.

I personally am sick of being asked to indulge self perception of others. I don’t care how you identify, but I don’t want to play the game of pronouns and inclusive language just to make you feel validated at the expense of my beliefs.

People who buy into this shit are just anti women. There's no two ways around it. Even if you take it right back to basics - there are countries where female babies are aborted or you're not allowed more than X number of female babies. Gender doesn't save them, they don't get to identify out of female oppression. Equally with female children in countries where FGM is prevalent, you don't get to identify out of having a vagina. These are very real types of oppression females face, yet we're expected to believe the people who don't think sex is real or important are 'feminists'? James Guy is a Swimmer, I think a lot of swimmers wil comment in support of Sharron Davies who has been vocal about these issues for a while now. We really need the heavyweights like Kelly Homes, Paula Radcliffe, Jess E-H to push back. It really is about time people stopped being in thrall to Twitter, the twitterati are a minority group of agitators with no lives. I doubt they are even customers of most of the companies.

I’d prefer it if the men carried the torch for a bit to be honest. When a woman speaks up she’s a TERF, she’s bitter, she needs to STFU. When men speak up, people seem to listen. They still get berated for being insensitive and unkind, but the criticism never seems to get stronger and angrier than that.

I read this forum all the time. Never have written anything because I enjoy reading all of your thoughts so much, but something happened yesterday that reminded me of how scary men are. I was in a swimming playing piggy in the middle of a ball with my boyfriend and a few other men. The man in the middle was someone I didn’t know and in his 60s or 70s. We were all very far away from each other and he was supposed to be in the middle. At one point someone threw the ball at me and the older man started swimming quickly towards me and physically but himself on top of me to get the ball. On top of me. As I backed away he kept pushing himself on to me. I’m 23 years old. I was furious. I shakily said ‘can I please have some personal space? You’re not in the middle of the pool’. My boyfriend shouted from the otherwise of the pool something along the lines of how getting in my personal space as me being the only woman is disgusting and creepy. The man didn’t interact with us after that.
Ive been sexually assaulted in broad daylight a few years ago and been in therapy dealing with that trauma since. If this pool experience occurred in a women’s changing room in some form, I can’t tell you how traumatic I would find it. I’m becoming very tired of people not caring about women’s safety and by standing up for that I will deemed as transphobic.

It’s complete science fiction and will only lead to tragedy and disappointment. Babies will be grown in laboratories before they are grown in male bodies. The medical ethics of any experimentation will stop it happening in the western world (which is where the demand appears to be highest). Most men who want a child can father a child with a willing woman. These individuals who demand a uterus implant are fetishising pregnancy and birth, not wanting a child. It’s disgusting.

One of the things I find most upsetting about this whole debacle is the speed at which so many women are willing to accept and even advocate for a loss of our hard- and long-fought rights. There is such a lack of THOUGHT and nuance.

I am sick and tired of being seen as a transphobe and a bigot by people who know me, and know my political leanings and struggles with my own sexuality and gender. I remember years ago reading Paris Lees writing in Pink News or some other sewer about how fun it was to be finally sexually harassed by men and chased down the street. Just like a real woman. It was actually a point for me that crystalized certain views. Only a gay man physically equal to and unafraid of other males would perceive being cat called and chased by other males as a cheap thrill and both eroticise and enjoy it as evidence of his newfound 'femininity'. Actual women would be terrified and traumatized.

Try, as a 13 year old, standing on a crowded tube train packed in like sardines and have some random stranger you couldn’t even see shove his fingers up your clothes and into your vagina and being so traumatised you didn’t speak of it to a soul until you were in your forties. And again as a 16 year old leaving a crowded football match pretty much the same thing happening. And on most nights out in your late teens and twenties being expected to accept random gropings from all and sundry and being told you’re the one with the problem if you protest. That is my experience and similar to many women’s experiences and why in my late 50’s I’m still wary of men in most situations

How was this pregnancy still allowed to go ahead?! Why on earth did they let a brain damaged woman go through the trauma and letting pregnancy which was from rape go to term?!
And then that disgusting, vile rapist was only given 12 years. Women are like second class citizens in this country. No entity, be it government, police, justice, etc gives a damn about us.

I’m guessing the pregnancy was too far advanced for a safe termination if she wasnt taken to the doctor until her stomach had swelled. Appalling abuse of trust

Around ten years ago in my old job I had to visit a client whose social worker had contacted my office stating categorically that she must only have a female visiting officer and that whoever went must check in with the social worker first so they could ensure it was a woman. It transpired that the client had, many years earlier, been the victim of a particularly brutal sexual assault and was absolutely terrified of men. Imagine the damage it would cause her to be unexpectedly confronted with a penis. But hey the guy with the girl dick should be allowed into her space and she should put up with it because it is only a penis.
