I remember he once said he worked in leisure for 35 years.

Indeed. He was in my husband's suggested list waaaay back when, when he had about 1k if that subs - it was kind of meteoric and a bit mesmerising to watch the vids and see it climb and climb. I remember saying to my husband that this must be an offshoot channel. The production shots were there from the off, which as we now know is entirely down to his son. As has been said on this thread - Gary is a useless food reviewer - there's a lot he doesn't like and he ran out of words a long time ago.He isn't doing too badly, for someone who started his channel in 2023.
that's fair I can forgive the colloquialisms personally and dont mind longer videos if the contents good, he churns out alot so can choose a length im in the mood for should i start watching himHe is inoffensive but I automatically flinch at very obvious posh boys speaking as if they're from 'the hood' - his constant use of 'bruv' is a particular irritant. Some of his videos can be overly long, too - 20 minutes tops is more than enough but 40+ and I'm definitely not watching!
I think it was because in the beginning he was down to earth and was just showing people some good food that was around, then came the fast food, the 100 fish and chip shops, the clickbait slop and dumb thumbnails, and acting like billy big balls thinking he's a professional food reviewer, then everything went down hillIndeed. It's probably places that got a profitable increase in footfall on his old channel and are willing to pay again for a 'review' on this channel.View attachment 3956215
This finding reasons to go back to places they already went to is winding me up. They don't want to do any interesting content, they want to behave like a pair of teenagers and be able to eat a big tea while claiming it as a work expense. Despicable tbh.
Don’t forget the snap of a sausage! No idea what that even means. They both use the most annoying ideas for the quality of food too, key offender is THE CHEESE PULL.
It doesn’t mean a bloody thing in any context other than visual advertising to get you to buy the product, and often times it’s done by adding glue to the sodding cheese for marketing purposes. Are they eating glue, or are have we been sniffing it to sit through this tripe?
I always thought that he lived in Sutton or nearby? Is there any news on Old Ma Eats or is she cared for by professionals now?My husband has seen him shopping in Allington Waitrose.
I related to him a lot back in the day because I was a carer for my mum. The more I watched, the more I doubted the truth of what he said about that, as there was no way I could have done even a tenth of what he did when I was caring but I loved that he was finding space to look after Mum and take care of himself.I always thought that he lived in Sutton or nearby? its not even funny like he and danny seem to think it isHe is ruining what was once an enjoyable channel. Ditch the table Gary, it's annoying.
I think it’s a complete cheek of him to turn up like that full stop! The guy handled it well. I think it’s outrageous, turn up, with camera man, proceed to set up your own dining room in his garden and critique everything to blast over the internet. Could see the bloke come out his door at one point looking at them, like , what’s going on. I felt sorry for the guy involved,What a lovely guy who runs that home based take away was Gary had a bit of a cheek though setting up that bloody table in his garden and asking for a plate too![]()
I did wonder whether Gary had asked his permission first to film but the guy did seem put on the spotI think it’s a complete cheek of him to turn up like that full stop! The guy handled it well.
