They both use the most annoying ideas for the quality of food too, key offender is THE CHEESE PULL.

It doesn’t mean a bloody thing in any context other than visual advertising to get you to buy the product, and often times it’s done by adding glue to the sodding cheese for marketing purposes. Are they eating glue, or are have we been sniffing it to sit through this tripe?
Don’t forget the snap of a sausage! No idea what that even means.

The more cringe and embarrassing he gets, the more I can’t watch it 🙈 fair enough, everyone has different takes on it. I do however think it’s not moral to plaster unsuspecting workers ,over the internet for click bait.

Indeed. He was in my husband's suggested list waaaay back when, when he had about 1k if that subs - it was kind of meteoric and a bit mesmerising to watch the vids and see it climb and climb. I remember saying to my husband that this must be an offshoot channel. The production shots were there from the off, which as we now know is entirely down to his son. As has been said on this thread - Gary is a useless food reviewer - there's a lot he doesn't like and he ran out of words a long time ago.
I think it was because in the beginning he was down to earth and was just showing people some good food that was around, then came the fast food, the 100 fish and chip shops, the clickbait slop and dumb thumbnails, and acting like billy big bollocks thinking he's a professional food reviewer, then everything went down hill

I've reflected on this overnight and I'm convinced that this was performative BS to deflect (even stop) any legitimate criticism. You cannot put any old BS out there and not expect to be challenged. "My truth' as opposed to THE truth doesn't exist. The fakery and hypocrisy has to stop and that is their modus operandi. They think we're all malleable to any old thing they say-if your mental health is so fragile take yourself off social media and live a quiet life. Interesting there's no evidence of any of what's been alleged which is extraordinary when you consider that they put their whole lives out there-i'm surprised they haven't done a 'join me for when I cut my toenails' vlog. Absolute nonsense.

Not bothering to watch it but i imagine its all exaggerated. Play stupid games win stupid prizes peddling rage bait. Also so he's against people 'ambushing' him in public but its totally fine/ 'right' for him to do it to people at work or for his pitbull danny to do it back?

I see that vlog where he went to that house has done over 750000 views.
That's gotta be over £2k in the bank.

Monday I'm buying a camping table and chair. 🤯

I used to like Gary and his videos and still do enjoy the odd couple, back when they were simple, light hearted, checking out some of the good food this country has to offer in both well known and hidden gem establishments (for those I could let the odd fast food chain slide as theyre not somewhere i go anymore so it can be interesting to see current trends). But the descent into rage bait slop is disgusting, manifesting into half the comments on that latest potential food poisoning curry takeaway being racist shit (at the time of writing this they hadn't been removed). The misleading titles and not to mention the stupid shocked or deep in thought thumbnails that've been out of trend for, in social content terms, an age. The pop up table also has to be one of the dumbest gimmicks I've seen in quite some time yet he and danny seem to think its the most original and hilarious bit in decades. It definitely feels like that group who seem to have gravitated together (though Harrison seems to have managed to be intelligent enough to steer clear of what i'll be generous and call bad content decisions) are feeding off eachother and using one anothers ideas in a race to the bottom.

And I know its clearly a winning formulae views wise for him but jesus christ is he going for the Guinness book of records achievement for most fish and chip shops reviewed?! How can you not be bored making the same thing over and over let alone being a viewer. Going back to my point of unoriginality with every single one apparently being either the best or worst in history if the titles are to be believed

Finally, as someone who actually works in the restaurant industry and not someone who as far as I think we've been informed didn't just grow up with parents who owned a pub? (feel free to correct me if more info has been given in a video I've missed) some parts are outright (I think intentionally) dishonest. Specifically when referring to things as 'not worth the money' or 'overpriced' etc (I grant you in some cases eg Salt Bae restaurant this is fair and true). I say intentionally dishonest because in some videos he acknowledges costs of rent, running, wages, quality of produce etc but in others its ignored entirely i presume to get the reaction of a lot of people who don't think about those things with the 'oh i could make that at home for half the money' mindsets. A recent example that comes to mind would be where he's reviewing i believe a hotel cafe that serves 'the most expensive pastries in the country' then comparing it to Greggs, without any consideration of location, atmosphere, the experience of a highly trained brigade of patissiers, the high quality ingredients vs takeaway, made by a machine, frozen, with the cheapest ingredients possible to keep margins high, Greggs. The industry especially now needs much better ambassadors, not people/wannabe influencers slagging it off.

Without too much stretch of the imagination in Garry's very formulaic shtick: 'has he got too big for his boots? I'll let you decide. Buh bye' *walks off muttering to myself into the distance while trying to dodge people and/or traffic*

Exactly - why would anyone have a problem that he shopped in Waitrose when it's clear that he's making money from YouTube and his channel is all about spending money on eating out

What a pest this man is, swanning into a business that’s been open for a long time like he’s saving the day. How did they get so far in their lives before Gary rocked up with £500?

What did bringing this bootlicker on and returning so soon to do a victory lap over a paltry sum do exactly besides feeding his ego? Random YouTube man says Gary is busy saving small businesses? Why do they all speak without any thought?

It does seem like anyone can knock about with a camera, describe food as beautiful [insert texture, flavour, smell or appearance] and you’re off to the races.

Please, please, please stop the “walking away” joke, it’s fucking dead. Also, we see you snatching all of random YouTubers food, passed off as banter or marking territory? Gary does seem to deal with the big green monster quite a lot. And I’m not talking about Greeno.
He thinks he's the next best thing since sliced bread (no pun intended). The whole lot of them are like Middle Aged Men Inc-they have this unassailable (erroneous) belief about themselves-Men on a White Charger syndrome. I'm not sure any of them could get up on the horse at this stage.

I think there's something very off about the impact these people think they're having on 'the public' and what standing they have (none)-it's giving delusions of grandeur. They make my skin crawl.

He was rambling on how he does his shopping in Sainsbury’s actually and was only getting a few essentials in Waitrose 🥴
It’s hardly like doing your weekly shop at Fortnums or Selfridges is it 🙈 the whole video was bonkers really

I have found that Greeno Eats knows much more about food and wine etc than Gary.
Greeno gives very good reviews over all. And he doesn't pretend he isn't making any money from youtube the way Gary does.
If only he would stop pushing up his glasses all the time - it's really irritating!
