I 100% believe he gets paid for his reviews, I also believe his 'dad jokes' thing is a persona and I think he's a nasty piece of work off camera.

I do wonder how he'd respond to if he was asked now as i think his 'i dont get paid' videos were over a year ago now and im pretty sure legally you have to disclose if you do

I refuse to watch it, what is the crux of it? He implied it was shite in the header but it wasn’t?

I also refused to watch it but just a negative title will give people preconceived ideas and we all know how reluctant people are to change their minds in any way thus even if they dont watch the video hundreds of thousands of people will think negatively of the restaurant by default

For someone who claims to have been in the industry for many years, I find his vocabulary to describe the food extremely limited and repetitive. But then again they are all the same, and not actual foodies.

Yes, you're absolutely right - he's not the most eloquent of blokes. I reckon that he was a pub manager and didn't do much with the food size of things.

I just saw dannys latest solo video on my for you page, what is the pleb doing he's literally surrounded by much nicer outdoor dining tables and chairs, but he's put up his cheap tacky pop up thing literally right next to them im once again speechless

I also saw their latest joint video is eating from 'someones house', surely thats not the same one gary just did? the laziness is dumbfounding... couldnt even schedule the release a few videos apart?

No it was two different places. Not sure why he chose to do the review with Danny in a dirty alleyway of course, though thats about right for them.

I watched a couple of his videos after seeing them all do the Fallow collaboration. Found him pretty inoffensive in all aspects. Is pretty influenceresque but feel that can be looked over if there arent other issues

He is inoffensive but I automatically flinch at very obvious posh boys speaking as if they're from 'the hood' - his constant use of 'bruv' is a particular irritant. Some of his videos can be overly long, too - 20 minutes tops is more than enough but 40+ and I'm definitely not watching!

So him indoors & I started to watch Gary's latest volg ,but turned it off after 5 minutes.
Never thought I would say I prefer Danny vs food vs Gary.
Danny has a better relationship with his camera man,maybe a reason why Gary's son/ camera gut doesn't what to be seen.
Danny gets straight to the point on the food reviews as he eats.
Unfollowed Gary for now .

I'm surprised more of them don't tbh. If your job is dedicated to eating large piles of unhealthy food, which also involves travelling, which means you eat on the go quick food as well, as in takeaways, service station food, etc. It's unlikely you wouldn't put weight on.

When he was a kid, pub food was absolutely awful. It’s not like he’s Jamie Oliver. He looks like he was a doorman/porter. Nothing wrong with that, but this guy has not had a full career of eating and knowing good food. He has just found a niche and making money from it.

Spot on: he has. His content is very much of a muchness tbf.

Once a YouTuber get 1000 subscribers, they can monetise their channel. So he has probably been earning money for ages.

They all plead poverty so that they get Superchats, Buy me a coffee, Patreon etc

I've been watching greeno lately and is find his reveiws much more balanced and easier to watch Gary is becoming too gimmicky the same jokes the same remarks about the camera man

The coal fish and chip shop reveiw (seriously didnt know that was a thing) was quite interesting actually i think he was the only person to ever ask for a receipt in that second shop though the poor woman looked completely baffled

I was curious what the whole wig thing was about, did anyone else feel like he seemed to be acting more than usual? despite saying he paid it had massive paid review vibes, not just his demeanour but also the pop ups with the price, image of the food, and most sus of all the restaurants brand/logo... also a shorter video than usual which gives me the thought thats what was paid for...

Had a look earlier, so he says.. they contacted him to come and review some specific event. He decided to review them but in secret, while standing and filming across the road looking like Shaggy from Scooby Doo… but apparently no one has noticed this and he then goes in, wearing a pair of glasses in “disguise”.people in comments saying you were recognised immediately. You can see the waiter clock him when he approaches them at the table. Gaz is in the comments saying they didn’t recognise him and he was sat with his back to the bar. Some commented saying if they didn’t know it was him in his Clark Kent disguise, , they couldn’t have failed to notice the camera man… think he said in reply, they are hoping to get those glasses to film,( you know them recording glasses creepy people have… )

id like to know what kind of footfall increase you get from a review from an influencer like Gary or Danny. It must work for some places, but that place in Brentford said they came for the free food then business dried up again.

If Danny recommended a take away near me I'd put it on the nope list.

Had never heard of that podcast, listened to it yesterday, hilarious

One of my favourite podcasts! They mostly cover men, so it’s sort of like the inverse of tattle but they did an episode on Katie Price recently. They also tend to spend about half the podcast talking about things completely off topic but it’s still funny and always nice to hear more people making fun of annoying content creators
