I’m so gutted gabby petitos family won’t ever get justice. It’s truly devastating they won’t get any answers around the circumstances that led to her being murdered.

It’s absoutely maddening watching that footage again isn’t it!! And then they let him stay in a hotel for victims of domestic violence for the night!!! (I only learnt that in this doco, don’t think I’d heard that before!)

I watched the whole thing at the time and was maddened, but in the documentary they play the actual preceding 911 call, and it's literally a man reporting that he'd seen BL slap Gabby multiple times. That's the call they're responding to, and somehow they make it all turn around to being her fault. Leaving a young woman to sleep in a van on her own while the guy gets the hotel room is enough, before you even start thinking about how they could have extracted her from the situation. She was begging to call her mum!

I dont think they planted it but I do get the feeling that contact stopped recently through the burner phone and they knew where he was. Just too much of a coincidence that as soon as they join immediately they go to the right place.

Also they said it was a dry bag they found so could have contained a note book...but it wont contain the burner phone I bet. the parents needed to get out to the items before police to remove it, I'd put money on it.

I can't believe with FBI following them not long ago they were allowed to go into the park alone and tamper with or remove evidence

Her case will stay with me forever, there’s something different about being present and watching a case unfold rather than cases from years ago. It feels more personal in a way, she deserved so much better. Not sure how I feel about this being on Netflix… I always wonder if the family gets any profit/say in it

On the insta page previously mentioned here (houseinhabit) there's audio from a 911 call made on 12th August. The caller describes seeing a couple with a white van, Florida licence plate. The guy (BL) was slapping the woman before they jumped in the van and drove off. This guy is a piece of shit, he abused poor Gabby, before doing the worst to her.

Can we please stop blaming the police for not doing more on the footage.
You CANNOT force an adult out of a situation. They can advise, they can take one away (which they did) but no laws were broken. She phoned her mum, she went off in the van and he went to a hotel.

What are people expecting them to do? They are not social services and they are dealing with consenting adults

Another thing that really unnerves me is actually that family vlogger lady, who lost her son years ago- the one who apparently accidentally got that footage of the van. She was on several videos tonight with MSM interviewing her and she comes off WAY too happy. She acts like everything is such a cosmic blessing and I know she feels like her son led her to the footage that would help find Gabby, but it's still way too sad of a situation than what she was acting on a few stations tonight. Does anybody know what I mean?

Yes I know what you mean. Saying that her dead son helped to bring Gabby home. I know some people believe in stuff like this but I find it quite insensitive.

Wow, what an crazy coincidence that after a month of law enforcement searching for Brian, the first day his parents go to search together they happen upon some of Brian’s stuff. Was this one of the places Chris took the FBI? If not, why didn’t he take them there? If yes, that implies that the articles found are recent

I had to unfollow houseinhabit. It felt like her stories were becoming so ghoulish and distasteful. I also found out she is antivax, qanon, covid denier and a Trump supporter.

feels victim blame-y but I can’t put my finger on why.

I think it feels that way because it's like, 'oh, he just snapped' (implicitly saying it's either something she has done to make him snap OR some sort of 2 way street). It undermines what we know about DV and coercive control.

I'm not as certain as some that he went to the reserve with the intention of simply killing himself. While I do agree suicide is probably the most likely manner of death, I'm open to other possibilities at this point. Drug taking (accidental overdose), insect/snake poisoning, injury, illness, drowning, wild animals, etc.

He apparently took a backpack, dry bag, notebook, possibly other personal belongings. The parents incidicated that they (might have been just Chris) looked for him for a few hours initially - if this was a known spot and he had killed himself straight away, they would have found his body easily. My guess is that if it was suicide, there was a period of time where his mental state deteriorated before he carried it out.

This case has also been so incredibly bizarre that it would not surprise me one bit if there are still further twists.

Also, even if he did commit suicide, it may not have been because he couldn't 'live with himself' for what he'd done to Gabby. It could just have been because the net was closing in on him, and he didn't want to go to prison for the rest of his life. If he couldn't live with himself out of guilt, he sure took a long, roundabout way of doing it.

This case has blown up so much that there is so much misinformation and people plain making shit up to get insta tik tok clout. It's disgusting. I'm avoiding anything except actual news sources now.

I think BL is alive, if he is dead it isn't on purpose.

He can removed his teeth out. I feel that everything is so staged and doesn’t end up for me that the parents found his stuff… it doesn’t make any sense. Of course this is my opinion based on everything that I’ve been watching and reading about this case.

The teeth where likely still intact in his skull seeing they have it too, teeth stay in the skull after death and usually for a long long time. Teeth are often found in ancient discoveries of bodies. I’m as annoyed as everyone but I think it’s a bit far fetched to think he had got a skull and pulled out his own teeth to embed them in it.
