We once drove past signs for Mianus on a 6 hour journey through Connecticut and NY. Cue DAYS of “I hear there’s some nice people in Mianus” etc etc.

I’ve seen papers from a Dr Maida Smellie (not colon related).
also a doctor specialising in drug misuse called Dr Cochaine.

There used to be a business a few towns away called, "Well Hung Doors" which I thought was funny.

Here in NZ there are lots of town / city names that start with "Wha" which is pronounced, "Fa" ... one, is called "Whakatane" ... and "Tane" is a nice Maori male name. Say it together and it sounds very rude ... you want to do what to a Tane?!
