I really resent her suggestion that if you have a 9-5 you don’t ever work out of those hours. Get in the real world! My hours are 9-5:30 but this week I have been at my laptop by 8am every single day and worked well past 5:30 every single day. Am I whining? Nope. Part of the job at times. If I didn’t like it, I’d find a new job. It’s not hard.

The 9-5 comment got me too. I did work 9-5.30 5 days a week. Since corona I have worked 7 days a week. 10/11 hours a day. 2-3 peoples jobs because of shielding/office sharing. You know why? So the employees/employers had money to put a roof over their heads. To Research business loans and help with applications. To deal with the self employed so they have food on the table. All for NOTHING. my business has made no financial gain out of all this! 2 of my colleagues lost their voice as they spent 8-9 hours a day on the phone telling people we are hear and doing our best to help and get you what you need. We are fulfilling our duties and more at the moment. I’m sure all the Drs and nurses would like an easy 12 hour shift right now. The shop workers to not fear for their lives when they trust people are visiting because they might be ill. But influencers are creating ‘content’ for us. And putting in the hours?! Give me a break and go poke your head in the real world and see how some people are relying on food banks and the kindness of others just to survive. Also maybe ask the Virgin and BA staff how they currently feel. Because I tell you. That ain’t pretty.

Honestly 80% of her income now should be plenty since there are less chances to spend. Unless her declared income is less than her actual income. I saw a thing on the news recently where people with businesses paying in dividends were complaining about not getting en support, it winds me up when people haven’t paid as much tax as they should complain about not getting the same support as someone who did.
Looks like she has deleted her rant already. She's always going on about how she is defensive and angry etc etc. Im sure a lot of people are too, but in the real world you suck it up! Sometimes my boss pisses me off, sometimes customers do too but guess what... I behave in a grown up and professional manner and I get on with my job. I dont start ranting like a maniac at them!!

This is my biggest bug bear with the Internet in general. Person A posts an opinion, Person B disagrees in a polite way, Person A gets all aggressive and tells them to "remember to be kind" and "if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all"

As much as it seem people who get dividends are not paying as much tax it is just taxed in different ways. The issue is that Sel-Employed people can pick how much they claim. As you self declare. So it’s bitten the ones who don’t declare what they actually Need to live that I am laughing at. An ex client of our (and still does this to this day) used to get around £10000 a month in cash on top of around £2000 of work paid to his bank. He avoided VAT and kept him in the lower tax bracket. Lived the life of a millionaire. Bet he feels Great now what all he is entitled too is 80% of his declared wage or £2500 a month. I would say spend all that cash but it’s currently in a form of a boat/holiday home/house in Spain/ cars.
