I’m the opposite - the more I watch, the more I notice the times where she is a bit nasty.

I love Phoebe but she does get nastier as the seasons go on but same with Ross more I watch it the more I hate Ross

She definitely has her moments of nastiness but then I think the later series suffered in dialling up all their negative traits to extremes. Joey got more stupid, Monica more shrill, Ross more whiny.

Totally agree with this. They completely ducked with Joeys character. In the beginning he was the cool one who would give chandler and Ross advice etc and they turned him into a bit of an idiot.

I get what people mean about Joey becoming an idiot but in season one he’s the one who didn’t realise Stalin was already taken. He’s also the one that said “Or an uncle” when Monica said she was excited about being an aunt

The utter stupidity he displayed in various scenarios in later seasons were far worse, the French speaking episode for example. Early seasons Joey was shrewd in various ways, getting a pupil to audition a role as gay, assimilating himself into Chandlers workplace with ease etc.

For me Joey and Monica regressed as characters instead of developing and by the end of Friends were like parodies of themselves
