I think they have gone for the photos they have done in their tributes because they were happier, simpler times, and a lot of them were taken before Matt's addiction to pills and alcohol became so well-known amongst them all. Old school photos right back to when they all first met.
Whenever my best friend passed away, we all used old photos of us growing up not because we weren't close in the later stages of life, but more so because the earlier days were the oldest memories and certain photos just had so much meaning behind them.

I've currently just finished season 6 and am on to season 7 - you can see the difference in MP in the first episode of season 7 to the last one in season 6 - just shows what an unreal actor he was, he must have felt horrendous filming some of those scenes but to still show up - unreal :(
I know before when I went to work with a stinking hangover I felt like total tit, got no work done, etc and that was just for an office job so I can't even imagine how he must have felt.
You’re so right we’ve seen actors leave shows because of their struggles but he remained so dedicated to finishing the series even though he struggled. I can’t imagine what the show would’ve been like if Chandler had left. Praise to MP for showing up everyday even on days he was in rehab and putting on a bloody good performance. The reason Chandler excelled so well is because it was the embodiment of MP, the jokes were his and it showed.

The fact that straight after they finished filming Monica and Chandler's wedding, he was driven straight back to rehab is commendable in itself.
He was a fantastic actor especially to carry on in what must have been so hard for him. I know he wanted to be remembered for so many other things but his friend's character is an Icon and even more so when you know the struggles he had going on inside himself throughout the series. Totally agree with you, I don't think anyone else could have pulled Chandler and the jokes just quite as well as MP did. Chandler was made for him.

Least favourite guest appearances ?

I think the Robin William & Billy Crystal one could have been so much better

I’m sure there must be one I don’t like but I can’t think of any

What episodes would you skip?

I don’t really like the clip show episodes. I find it boring when any sitcom does them

I never skip any but I’m not a fan of the alternative reality one where Rachel marries Barry etc. not sure why, just find it a bit cringe.

I think the Denise Richards cameo is a bit cringe when Ross makes a move on a move his cousin 🥴

The Selma Blair one. She’s so deadpan in it (or she’s not acting with any effort)
The fact that Monica says Wendy is a large girl name - is it? And a big storyline was Monica was large when younger so where’s her empathy if Wendy is bigger?

The whole Pete era in general. Nothing against Pete (although it was a dumb and slightly icky storyline), but the writing during that series just wasn't up to the usual Friends standards. The episode where Ross goes to the "guru' to get the wart removed from his a was a low point

The Pete storyline mildly bored me. I liked him at the start but then him wanting to be the world champion ...yawn 🥱 💤
