I follow her but she’s become insufferable… I feel for people who live with trauma, no privilege, live in war torn counties, etc that can’t be “so deliciously in love with their life”.
I know that’s not her fault, and she does speak up on issues but I can’t cope with her anymore.
I also agree with comments about her being very patronising in the advice she gives. Why are we following her advice, who even is she 💀🤣

Listening to her podcast on feminism and she swears and shouts in exclamation ALL the time- ''that's f...king brilliant'' etc. I kind of feel she can only get away with that as a cis, middle class white woman- a black woman or a trans woman would probably be viewed as overly aggressive and a working class person doing it would be viewed as brash and chavvy

She is definitely a performative upper class white girl who is trying to capture a niche in the market

Like a majority of popular feminists today - or at least that's how it seems! I've read so many books - fictional and otherwise - that are just written by these same privileged, slightly condescending and self-obsessed women. They add absolutely nothing to feminist debate and reiterate the same stale ideas the patriarchy campaigns for: if you want to do anything and be liked as a woman, you've got to be pretty, white, rich and marketable.

The Top Critical Review on Amazon sums it up perfectly:
"This book has been somewhat empowering. Florence Given has made some feminist ideas digestible. However, it is digestible for white, middle-class, pretty women whilst disguising itself as being intersectional. Florence has taken it upon herself to be the voice of many and speak up on issues that she has never experienced herself such as disability and fatphobia. Her approach and the words she uses to define these experiences can be extremely damaging to people who live the reality of what she is merely theorising. In one section, she has created "privilege checklists" which are too overly simplified. The disability checklist only looks at disability from a visible perspective and completely ignores those who suffer with invisible disabilities which is invalidating and trivialising for those with hidden disabilities. I really wish that Florence Given would learn to pass the mic. If you want to feel really, truly empowered then I recommend What a Time to Be Alone by Chidera Eggerue."

That’s her Women don’t owe you pretty book. We’re talking about her new novel which seems a bit of a money grab 😆

I predicted this would happen... a young, wealthy woman with no real writing experience other than creating twitter worthy 'feminist' slogans writes a fiction novel? People seem to forget that writing a book demands some degree of talent and perseverance, and in an ideal world only those with stories to tell rather than things to sell would write...

It amazes me how limited her creativity is. Her drawings always look the same!

I haven’t seen the posts regarding the shakes singer she hangs out with, but I’m a tiktokker and MY GOD Florence gets mauled in the comments on some of her recent ads. I think they’ll have to take them down. The gen Z people aren’t in tune with this white girl plagiarism

Has anyone seen this thread? Florence has been in loads of pictures and videos with this guy. He sounds like a creep! Am quite surprised she hasn’t spoken up
still shocked she’s not addressed this. She’s posted zak Nimmo a few times on her story and she’s been on his loads, as someone who’s supposed to be queen feminist I’m surprised she’s not publicly condemning him. Probably hopes nobody remembers she was associated with him once

Seems like this band are no more..:
good. I’ve met zak a few times and sadly this news doesn’t surprise me. He’s a pretty well known sleaze at best, so finding out he’s more sinister than that is grim. I’m shocked Florence ever kept his company, as he’s so blatantly not a nice guy, he’s so loud and sleazy. Says a lot about her, I think.

Wow, that's shocking about the Zak Nimmo thing. Really disappointed she didn't speak up. She really doesn't stand for anything, does she?

I did a mass-unfollow months ago so Florence fell off my radar, but I had a look at her insta today and people in the comments are calling her out for saying nothing about what's happening in Iran with the Mahsa Amini killing, and the subsequent protests and suppression. It's insane to me that she didn't speak up on this, supposedly being such a massive feminist?!

But I shouldn't be surprised. If you look at her grid all you see is selfies and her flogging her products. It's so obvious she's just a totally self-obsessed, greedy grifter with nothing to contribute towards feminism or helping women.

She didn't talk about Sabina Nessa being murdered either. I guess unless something happens directly to her it doesn't matter

She probs doesn’t read the news, she seems pretty shallow in her fluffy pink seventies themed world that’s SO how the average woman lives :)
