We are quite close to RAF Wittering and theirs never seen to be on any trackers.I love it too- adsb exchange is also really good, you can see military aircraft on there as well which you often can't on FR24. Our area is often used for military training so I like to see what's flying over us
I have a friend that lives about 10 mins from Heathrow and we love doing this with her little girlWhat a great thread! Yeah I also spend a lot more time on it than I care to admit. I love using it to find planes with cool liveries. A fun game to play if you’re ever bored outside with someone else is to spot planes in the sky and try to guess where the plane is going to/coming from, then use the app to confirm it lol.
There's quite a lot of the live plane spottings on Tiktok too!I use this app all the time. We live under the flight path for planes arriving at Leeds-Bradford Airport so I’m always having a nosey to see what’s above me and where the passengers are coming in from. I’ve also come across the occasional military plane.
This app came in SO HANDY last month when our flight got delayed due to bad weather, so checked the app and saw that there was very minimal activity in the overall British airspace at the time and it wasn’t just Manchester Airport.
Also I discovered a live plane spotting YouTube channel the other day, so I used Plane Finder to track the flights they were showing
We drove to Heathrow to one of the watch spots right near and sat and watched the planes come in to land right next to the runway whilst watching to see what was coming on Flight Radar.I have a friend that lives about 10 mins from Heathrow and we love doing this with her little girl
off topic but your username SENT meI also geek out and check the app to see where planes above me are going.
I stole the idea from a user on Reddit. Makes me laugh every time someone "knows"off topic but your username SENT merewatching below deck immediately
