This is unrelated and I follow them because I enjoy their posts but I never turn the sound on their stories (or anyone’s really) and wow I did not imagine them having strong accents... I don’t know why because they are northern but in my head they have posh voices

I really like finch bakery (Instagram - I haven’t been as I live so far away!) and started following them all a few years ago! I love tessa, she’s so funny and miss the lives they used to do! but I do wonder why Isobel left?

I imagine just to work for herself instead of someone else. She seems to be smashing it good for her

L@@k at the ingredients on their strawberry cake. I'd rather make a Victoria sponge from butter, sugar, eggs, flour and real strawberries without any of this junk. Main ingredient is nasty baking spread

I’d love to know how they run a bakery and still stay so slim although I imagine they’re on their feet and moving non stop. I didn’t actually realise Isobel left too! Do we know what Isobel is doing now?

I think Tessa was the mastermind behind the whole social media hype and she will be hugely missed by the twins.
I think she did their company a huge favour in being so likeable and think they wouldn’t have the following they have if it wasn’t for her.
Good luck to Tessa!!!!

I think they’ve had their 5 minutes of hype and it’s over. I looked on their page and nothings changed since they were mega popular? Selling the same old things.

Isabelle’s looks amazing.

I don’t think they make as much as they claim - good friends of mine were bakers from their teens to retirement. They did proper cakes and everything in a trendy part of London. Their margins were very narrow - not the kind that would allow multiple jaunts abroad. Also, they had very long days so even if social media was a thing, they simply wouldn’t have the time to tit about as they needed to work.

I suspect a lot more of the girls’ lifestyles is funded by dads / partners than £14 brownies that sell out within 20 mins (which speaks to a daily cap - don’t want to burn out on a glorified hobby, not a living).

I asked about the Stork and spread vs butter and my friends said they found cakes made with Stork kept better in a freezer, lasted a bit longer when decorated but it had a more neutral taste that could be covered by the filling. Oh, and it was infinitely cheaper than butter. They goggled at the business model based on Tesco blocks and pre mixes.

I personally wonder if the complaints regarding the cake jars could be down to them recycling old freezer cake that would otherwise be thrown. Chucking in a mess of frosting is an attempt to cover sponge that is just about to go stale.

I do like them all! I like that they can be sarcastic with things and it can be refreshing as some mums online can make others feels as if they aren’t doing it right or not insta perfect! I have ordered brownies before and I am a huge brownie fan and I did enjoy them! However with postage they are £18 which is really steep and I probably wouldn’t order again unless they did an offer or free postage etc. They make massive batches so sometimes unsure why such high prices, and yep I do know, profit!!

I do hope they re open the shop and it goes well! Also looking forward to see the house renovations!

Thats one thing thats put me off is the ingredients, i dont mind paying for something yummy thats made with nice ingredients but they've admitted they dont even use real nutella Id rather pay a bit more and have better quality? Maybe im being a snob but if i wanted stuff like that id buy it from asda

Their brownies and cookies are amazing. Their cake on the other hand is far too dry, like inedible dry. But I like them, I don't think they take things too seriously. I also respect the hustle, they've done pretty well by the looks of things.
