Is she even giving the 1%? Isn’t it the publishing company giving it based on sales? Her fee will have been negotiated long ago and won’t include that fee. She’s not donating anything, the people buying it are and then the publisher.

She's donating 1% of her author royalties. The publisher is then giving 1% of published price royalties (whatever that is!)

I'm still in shock at the 1%. Embarrassed for her, angry at her and disgusted. She's used the whole donating to Tommy's to increase sales i believe. Everyone loves to help charity (well except Elle evidently) so will have no qualms purchasing the book. Shame the percentage isn't disclosed on the book. Vole really how she is using her dead son and the facade of being charitable to make herself "a best selling author" and line her pockets.
I really hate speaking of others like this, especially a new mum, but seriously how low can she go?

Well she didn’t have a trilogy lined up then originally of books. I think she’s missing the point here, no one is saying she’s a millionaire from Instagram. But it’s profiting, and even a small amount she gets paid a small fee for writing the book? Define small.

Liked her recent blog post she put. Don’t see any issue with her mentioning details of the bleeding etc. It’s natural, happens to women, happened to me with my child and it’s absolutely every pregnant woman’s worse nightmare. Terrifying.
I thought it was great to read the way she said she wants to jump back in and give back / continue. Redeems a lot for me.
It just did not sit well with me the way she came backafter so much time off then ask people to dig deep for a book which gave so little to charity but had the Tommy’s name all over.
If never returned that’s her choice and wouldn’t blame her tbh I just didn’t like the back with a bang ££

last thing on my mind!! I didn’t even have a nappy for the baby let alone “spritz for bits” and all the other crap the influencers sell lol. I was surprised she didn’t write anything like “when it comes down to it you realise how unimportant fancy hospital packed bags are and what dressing gown you wear”
It is confusing because she is a human being who lost a baby so obviously she knows that when it comes down to it all the crap you buy isn’t important. The nursery you decorate, all that, it’s just stuff. Means nothing. Healthy baby most important. Like she said in one blog gender means nothing.
But then she doesn’t really seem that way sometimes.. But I don’t know I don’t find some it very down to Earth. There’s nothing real or raw about it from a parenting point of view. Like, the dressing gown doesn’t matter, or we spend most of the day barely functioning. It’s like she just cannot her to drop her Insta face.
Maybe her insta friends aren’t actually very real with her I wonder if she can say to them “I spent all day in my pyjamas and my hairs not been washed all week and I have piles
