Recent perfume trials for me :-

Juliette Has a Gun - Powder Love . Did not have high hopes for this as thought it might be too sweet for me but proved wrong. It was lovely - there was a little hint of sweetness but was mostly clean ( and i can see why they called it powder love). Think this would be better in warmer weather. Didnt last all that long but could be coz it was cold (although based on previous JHAG experience will probably just be another poor performer).

Christian Louboutin - La Fetishe Rose - I am on my second sample of this (small aromas). It is basically Hibiscus Mahajad but less jammy and sweet. This is much more balanced. Not sure if Quentin Bisch is behind both? I will have to check but given they are one and the same then its a good possibility. I have moved this onto the to buy list. It also has great sillage and lasts a pretty decent amount of time (6 hours ish)..

Narciso Rodreiguez - Pure Musc Blanc . A little meh.. its ok but i don't think its anything special. I would describe as a white florals perfume. It also reminds me of another perfume but not sure what . Fragantica mentions Narciso Rodriguez - Ambree but i own this and it smells nothing like it. It also doesn't smell like Pure Musc either. Its pleasant enough but i don't love it and don't think i'd want a full bottle. Also think this is a another perfume that may do better when its warmer ( coz of the white florals).

That would make me retch.
Dug out some perfumes I haven’t worn that much recently today:
Shalimar cologne, Elie Saab, penhaligons Equinox bloom, and I’m also enjoying a new one; Beso Canalla that I just tried yesterday. I have tried layering Beso Canalla with Matin Calin tonight and it some how allows me to smell the top notes that don’t shine when used by itself. On me it’s very much sandalwood and burnt sugar by itself. The top notes are still fleeting but I did smell them this time, and the milk note from matin calin became really strong.
Shalimar has become a proper favourite recently. I love Guerlain perfumes generally, and this was bought blind for me at Christmas. Must admit to being really unsure at first spray, but once it dries down, oh my goodness, I can’t stop sniffing myself as it morphs into this lovely creamy vanilla and spice.

I’m so happy! I went in my cellar today and located a box with a big vintage dune, hypnotic poison, a big Tuscany per Donna, a tiny red door parfum and my Love Chloe.
What a find! Red Door has unlocked a memory for me; an aunt always wore it when I was younger. Enjoy.

OOh love Father Figure although I found it grew on me , I bought a set to get a small travel size of Missing person which I absolutely adore , now I love them both..
Big FF fan here too. I’ve been through two travel sizes and now about half way through a 50ml. I like to pair it with Glossier You sometimes. A pairing that has been commented on twice in the wild actually, which has never happened to me before 🤣

I have a 100ml of Missing Person but despite making an initial dent in it (after finishing a travel size) I don’t find myself reaching for it often. I have MP body oil though and I’m a big fan of that. A scalding hot everything shower, a figgy scented body lotion and then MP body oil on top and in to fresh PJs is my idea of a great night in 😅

SOTD, Aerin Mediterranean Honeysuckle Mimosa. Much more English garden than Mediterranean for me, blackcurrent and mimosa stand out…and maybe the vetiver. Want to try the new Honeysuckle Soleil, any one tried it yet?

I came across Jo malone on tiktok talking about her Zara perfumes. I thought they’d be a bit crap, considering it was a collaboration with Zara, so when I was in store, I tried the popular ones, fashionably London and magnificent Dubai on each wrist. Does anyone have either of these?
Yes, both are lovely, Fashionably London has real staying power. There’s also a stronger elixir that I actually prefer. Another one from this range Salty Ocean Bouquet is my favourite and I am constantly asked what it is, it’s another really lasting scent. For the price range they are fab.

SOTD was rare layering balm in Peony Blossom, bought for me by my daughter last Christmas.

I went in Next today and tried 3 or 4 of their own scents. I have had a banging headache since about half an hour after trying them so safe to say I won’t be purchasing!

Has anyone tried the Narciso Poudrée from Narciso Rodriguez? ChatGPT suggested it to me, but I can’t find it locally. It also suggested Zara Fields At Nightfall, but my nearest Zara is over an hour away.

Have you tried Soleil Blanc, Vanilla Vibes, Bronze Goddess and Beach? I hear great things about the Vacation fragrance too but I am banning myself from buying any more this year.
Maison Margiela Beach Walk is a fab salty option too, I never get coconut off it mind. I get stronger coconut off Moonlight in Heaven.

I don’t often blind buy perfumes, but I’ve just ordered Diptyque Do Son (body lotion and the EDT) and three Frederic Malle samples, can’t wait to see what they’re like! (they didn’t have all the Malle samples I wanted but can always try again when they’re back in stock. Ordered yesterday and they’re on the way via UPS today!)

Also just spotted this company ( also based in the UK). Who are vegan, cruelty free . When I searched for allure it brought this perfume up.

Consider yourself officially an influencer! Thank you so much. Fingers crossed this will suit, it sounds lovely!

Unpopular opinion - kayali fragrances. Tried two; the pistachio one made me smell like cherry Bakewell and the wedding night one I wasn’t a fan. Am I missing something? I really like delina atm and angel dust
Same, I’ve bought a few samples and they’re too synthetic for me.

I have just seen an advert for Banana Rush by Juliette has a Gun - the description signs like it would be my kind of perfume and banana notes are very unusual so really curious about it. Anyone tried it? Is there any actual shops that stock JHAG perfumes as £30 for 7.5 mls is a bit steep 🙈
I saw someone say it smells like amoxicillin

I used to wear Christian Dior Dune back in the 90’s. Is this still available? I loved it.
