Trying to replace Flower Market by Maison Margiela (which is discontinued ) any ideas? White florals I love, with a bit of green/crispness…tried Creed’s Spring Flower, Love in White, and Eladaria, and they’re ok (final two are a bit powdery), any ideas?

Does anyone else when reading fragrantica comments wonder what some people are smoking? i think i have a weird smell perception as it rarely aligns with the comments but then some comments are just so strange, like how do you smell that in that perfume.. i just tried Dark Rum Malin and Goetz and it the notes are rum, plum, leather etc and it smells very leathery and plummy to me, then someone says it smells almost like a pina colada?! makes me worried wearing any scents if everyone can pick them up so differently not a fan of the m&g dark rum btw

My husband is a Tom Ford ag and has nearly all of them except the rose ones which are too feminine for him. Maybe try Cafe Rose?
F**** Fabulous is the only one that gives me a headache and I like Bois Pacifique and Costa Azura best.

I’m using a sample of La Vie Est Belle right now. I’ve had this sample for ages and I like the scent on my MIL a lot, but on me, it smells so different that I have a hard time believing it’s the same scent. I smell caramel first thing on me, and now, 12 hours later, still smell a faintly sweet and slightly floral note. On my MIL I don’t think I ever noticed caramel. Is my sample dodgy, my skin chemistry totally different or is this the regular La Vie Est Belle experience?

I love the cherry range, cherry smoke and lost cherry are great. Love vanilla sex too but I wouldn’t say any are blind buys. Also love rose cafe.

Fleur de Portofino is my absolute fave.

I’m using a sample of La Vie Est Belle right now. I’ve had this sample for ages and I like the scent on my MIL a lot, but on me, it smells so different that I have a hard time believing it’s the same scent. La Vie est Belle is a wierd one on me too. Smells lovely on someone I know - but I had a spray and it smelled bloody awful. Honestly it was like cat urine. It did have longevity though - the ones that smell bad always do

LVEB smells like everyone to me, there are so many smell-alikes it feels incredibly generic.

LVEB smells like everyone to me, there are so many smell-alikes it feels incredibly generic.

have you tried the LVEB Elixir? I agree with your opinion but I still like the smell of LVEB, I just rarely reach for it as I smell it everywhere already. I got a travel size sample of the elixir flanker and it’s really gorgeous.

I haven’t no. If I get the opportunity I’ll smell it. I don’t exactly hate it, it’s just like you say, everywhere. I’m not perfume gatekeeper in the slightest but the thing about perfume for me is the novelty. If everyone is the same, what’s the point?!

Does anyone have any tips for perfumes that really smell like vanilla? Went to a beauty retailer today to smell Burberry Goddess, but I don’t think it smelled like vanilla. I asked for advice and they showed me YSL Libre vanille couture and black opium but there was no tester. Same goes for Lancôme la vie est belle vanille nude. They did have a tester for Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal but I don’t think that smells like vanilla.

I was in Boots today and had a little scoosh of the YSL Libre Vanille. It's nice but very subtle vanilla wise (I thought). I mean you can smell it but it's not that strong. Lying in bed now I can faintly smell it on my arm and it's like a very delicate toffee.

Nothing to do with vanilla but I also tried the new Versace Crystal Emerald and really like it. It's described as a fruity floral. It's really nice and fizzy (I know there's a technical term for that but can't remember it). Sort of a lovely sweet fizz but with a sharpness there too.

Not perfume but the Eos Vanilla Cashmere body lotion smells very strongly and adds a vanilla note to any perfume I wear. I also hear the Palmers Tahitian Vanilla smells good, I have it but havent opened it yet.

have you tried Ellis Brooklyn vanilla sin. It’s technically a body mist but it’s a really nice vanilla without being heavily gourmand or too sweet. Longevity it decent for a body mist and obviously price is much cheaper too!

IMO YSL Libre intense is the most vanilla one of all that range

Can anyone recommend an aftershave for a 19 year old lad (my step grandson). He hasn't ever got the money to buy his own as he's a uni student but has asked for some for Christmas. Last year I got him Prada Luna Rossa Ocean that he loved but I don't want to buy the same again....

My step son who’s 24 likes that one and he also has ones from the Invictus range and Bad Boy too so maybe try those?
