Tbf to Shakira, it must be quite frustrating for her to being of Asian heritage and with other other Asian cast members this year, she might feel like the conversation is ignoring that and in itself ignoring their own heritage etc. hope I have worded that well?
Diversity and inclusion being two different things is a good point. You can be diverse and still not be inclusive. We see this every year on Love Island.

I think LI has gotten better with casting diversely when you compare to the earlier seasons, but the issue of inclusion isn’t keeping up. I think Shakira is right though in asking how this is tackled without straight up asking people if they have a race preference. Even then, it doesn’t guarantee they’ll couple up because they might not be compatible on a personality level and people can easily lie about their type.
