Anyone else think luke littler has gone off the boil a bit, he just doesn't seem as sharp as he was
Yeah he defo has but I think it's down to a number of factors related to being only 18. He's already won the ultimate prize and made a ton of money, so mentally that makes you less focused. He's young, got a new girlfriend and probs living life like an 18 year old should. Again, this affects your focus. I aslo see nerves creeping in, which were not there when he was more of a wild card with zero pressure.Anyone else think luke littler has gone off the boil a bit, he just doesn't seem as sharp as he was
Totally agree with everything you have said the pressure on him at times must have been immense he has achieved so much in the little time he has been playing professional darts and he has done so much to raise the game and getting people watching/playingYeah he defo has but I think it's down to a number of factors related to being only 18. To be at the top of any game you've got to be 100% dedicated. He's got all the talent but doesn't focus like he needs to so that he can sustain his levels. I put that down to his age and perhaps that's the right balance for now. No point getting to 30 and regretting not having a life whilst you're young.
The main thing also is that everyone has upped their levels thanks to him. He's massively improved the game imho.
Hopefully we'll see him refocus at some point. As much as I'm always rooting for him, I'm torn by the fact I enjoy seeing other great players win things.
Excellent analysis that I think hits the nail on the head! He has years ahead of him (particularly with darts being a sport you can play for longer than most other sports) and, yes, let him enjoy being an 18 year old - who has money to spend - for a while and if his darts tail off for a bit, so be it. Plenty of time to focus again when he is in his twenties.Yeah he defo has but I think it's down to a number of factors related to being only 18. I didn’t go - seen some clips though. Got tickets to meet Price in Blackpool in October for my birthdayso happy he won again. He’s really stepped up this year. Great to see him back to his best
My poor husband couldn't stay awake for the last game and was so annoyed when he saw the score. Although I'm surprised I didn't wake him up with my quiet cheeringWhat an epic night of darts![]()
I'm knackered today. When van Gerwen shot into the lead I thought it would be a quick matchMy poor husband couldn't stay awake for the last game and was so annoyed when he saw the score. Although I'm surprised I didn't wake him up with my quiet cheering![]()
