If he thought the crowd were booing him before, I guarantee it will be far worse now. I'm a fan but feel v let down by his behaviour. He could have redeemed himself with an apology but made it worse with the insta post. Poor Gian did not deserve any of it.

I have found that Wayne Mardle (English guy) has been a bit annoying this tournament but can’t put my finger on why. Found it more as the world champs have progressed

I feel like the commentary is very unprofessional but I kinda warmed to Wayne - he kinda just says the first thing that comes into his head

That wasn’t as good a match as it seemed it was going to be. Luke makes everyone look average!! But am glad it’s an early night

Not a fan of littler but the arrogance was pouring out of him last night. It's really not a good look. Gian is a class act I really hope he goes from strength to strength & gives littler a run for his money.

I am also a Litter fan (Pricey is my favourite) and always champion him. In Dublin the crowd was definitely not on his side and it must be hard coming out to that reaction every night
BUT he really showed his immaturity and arrogance tonight then doubled down on it on Instagram. I seen a post on FB that said he needs to hire a PR agent and I have to agree!

My friend said he did have some sort of agency before but got rid of them? Not sure how true that is as haven't actually looked into it! He is very arrogant though . Really started to look at him in a different light after his " I'm not bothered , you pay my wages " rant .. we get you're a millionaire at 18 , fair play to you , but it's just nobby behaviour to rub it in constantly really.

As a Littler fan, GVV deserved to win that, disappointed to see Luke throwing a bit of a childish tantrum. I know it's his 'home' crowd & reaction in the moment, but really not a good look. He gets ripped to pieces for being arrogant when he's not behaving like that, so you can imagine the reaction he's had tonight! I'd stay offline for a bit if I was him...

i am am empath to the core, i don’t like seeing anyone upset and he is young but if he’s going to give it out and encourage the crowd to go against van veen who is one of the nicest players in darts he needs to own his behaviour, the way people switch up is crazy

Found this thread when I realised I know more darts players than football players these days. The days of fancying the up and coming football players are long gone, it’s bleak when you start thinking the rotund, middle aged darts players are good looking

•This tournament is pairs all the way through

FORMAT:
There are 12 groups with 3 countries in each, who will all play each other in their group once (2 games each in total) split across the Thursday evening session, and a double session on the Friday. Following this, the top team in each group will progress to round 2, where the 4 seeded countries (England, Netherlands, Northern Ireland & Scotland) join the action over a double session on the Saturday, before the quarter-finals, semi-finals & final all take place across a double session on the Sunday!

Remembering when the venues were full of smoke, players double parking pints & best of order really was a very quiet still crowd.

Came here to ask why the crowd were so hostile towards Littler tonight. I did not expect to hear all that booing! I only watch darts at Christmas and everyone was loving Littler last year from what I remember.

Cynical me just thought it was the start of the inevitable British onslaught that happens once we’ve built someone up so much. My husband was like, ‘ooh he’s getting wound up’, yeah I would be too! Especially at 18. I did enjoy his cocky little chat at the end though
