I'm just confused by the large bathroom. Other rooms I understand, but who needs a bathroom that big? Surely it would just get cold!
Maybe Eve views herself as coming from a ‘poor family’ and ‘state school’ because she is constantly surrounded by very middle class people? I guess she just compares herself to her peers. Her girlfriend looks very wealthy and her roomies also seem very comfortable. That girl Anushka seems loaded. So maybe she just doesn’t realise...
But it’s about checking your privilege, now isn’t the time for relative poverty etc, eve might not be upper middle class but she’s deffo middle class! That affords you more than she’ll realise
Literally these influencers just don’t realise how WELL they have it. But for sure, she is very middle class- not sure why she is so obsessed with making herself look like she has worked from nothing.

Obviously Eve can't afford private helicopters and the like, but good holidays and travelling would be within her budget and she likely has enough money to spend on luxuries
I'd understand surprise if Eve was a working-class person with working-class approach to money but that's not exactly the case

Her dad Carlos is portuguese. Then the mum is from near London. I think they grew up in Lisbon- not sure. Probably in between though. They own properties in Lisbon and Cascais, as well as in London (well, Croydon in the Surrey area). They all speak portuguese though- so definitely well immersed within that culture.

I really respect youtubers that don't overshare their lives in most circumstances, but when some other's do it - Eve is one of these people - it just seems quite disingenuous and manipulative to me
I think you guys are misunderstanding the male gaze, its not about you being under men's scrutiny. It's about you knowing you're under men's scrutiny and changing yourself/ carrying yourself a certain way for the men that are watching you. When Eve said it's good to not be under the male gaze, she meant that she stopped caring about those men that are watching her, and therefore now carries herself in whatever way she wants. Most women, straight or not, are affected by the male gaze, its just a part of living in a patriarchal society, but the end goal for many of us is to stop caring about the male gaze. However, many of us have already achieved this and dont give a tit about what men think, and as you said "dress for ourselves", So just because SHE no longer cares about the male gaze, doesn't mean she's insinuating that everyone else does care.
