Really need someone to do a snarky rundown like that guy in the Ruby Granger thread. Far more fun than watching the video!

Randomly thought of her during the week and caught up on this thread, then the new video popped up on my youtube. She's a bit too chirpy/preachy for my taste and I do find her quite dramatic - example A, the montage of her on the tube at the beginning of the video lol. BUT, it always seemed obvious even to me as a casual watcher that she was too creative to be a lawyer for life.

Also, nothing to do with the video, but she has never looked so unreal! Obsessed with the haircut and glasses.

Totally agree! It's the best she's looked in YEARS.

Hope she goes on to reveal more about the realities of working in the MC as she steps away, maybe on if she's a guest on a podcast or something.

Good on her for deciding what she wants in life, interesting how she said she was "an okay lawyer, but wasn't the best". Makes me wonder if those FT comments about her not being known as very good at her job are accurate

I thought the same thing when she said that. She had a 'profile' though, coming in with her Youtube stuff so that probably worked against her in a sense that I bet she was scrutinised by her colleagues a lot more than a normal trainee.

At least know she realises there's more to her than being a lawyer, what is it with Eve and her always talking about being state school educated? You're not the only one lmao.

I was a bit weirded out at that comment, not gonna lie. Not everybody can be the best at their job anyway??? As long as you do what you're supposed to do, there's no need to be the absolute best at what you do. It's a very toxic mindset to have, in any aspect of your life, and one that's quite immature imo.

For someone who made law their entire schtick it's ironic she was "okay" at it.

I think she just meant that she wasn't the most "driven". She did her work but she wasn't THAT type - I don't know much about the legal equivalent but for med, you know the types that are always wanting to learn and do more? They stay to see the surgeries, they volunteer first to try everything, they jump in on cases.

But she is not a woman in tech as she says in her instagram? Her linkedin says she's is a product manager, which is very different from actually working in tech.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a common mindset in law to an extent, especially among recent graduates who maybe haven’t settled down as much

Consider this a late/early birthday present:

If the clickbaity title of 'i quit my dream job' wasn't a dead giveaway that Eve wants to really sell the self-importance of this monumental development (and that influencers are terminally incapable of using capital letters in video titles), then look at the state that Eve has been reduced to:

Un9006ggjj598.jpg

She's wearing comfortable clothes and lounging on the sofa! Life has clearly taken a dark turn. I mean, chilling on the couch in a onesie seems like the ideal gig, but by the sombre lighting and forlorn look on Eve's face, we can tell that she's dressed down because she's "going through some tit". But what could it be?

The inference will soon be clear: Eve has a severe case of everyone's-talking-about-me-on-the-internet-and-I'm-not-okay syndrome - a fictional affliction invented by YouTubers to help them feel very important and relevant.

Un9006gj598.jpg

She shows herself getting bombarded with website pop-ups, complete with a barrage of jarring error sounds. I think that stopped being a thing with Windows 98, but who am I to get in the way of Eve's existential crisis?

It's also the same article copied half a dozen times. "This life event is extra serious! I'm hearing about it from all angles! One place mentioned it!" Okay, Eve.

For some reason she's holding a notepad to take notes about herself.

Uo[n9u8868u88y-=768.jpg

After some footage of Eve posing pensively and running around the tube maskless while solemn poetry plays (not written or read by Eve) to show just how epic the life decisions are here, Eve's here to intro the video.

Un9u88u88.jpg

She whispers: "So today is gonna be an 'I quit my job' ASMR--I'M JOKING!"

Oh, the hilarity! And ASMR jokes only get funnier the more you tell them. Perhaps Eve will tell even more equally fresh, original and topical jokes in this video, too. Perhaps she'll joke about MySpace. Maybe she'll start introing videos with this:

giphy.gif

After moving on from jokes that were barely amusing years ago before they were beating into the ground, Eve reveals that in December 2021, she quit her job. Shocking stuff indeed!

She mentions that she took a step back from social media in 2021. "Because GUURLL, I was working through things," she says, continuing to use overworn jokes and culturally-appropriated mannerisms from several years ago. So topical!

You probably noticed that she wasn't around much, Eve says.

Because of course, everyone put their life on hold and was frantically refreshing their feed waiting for Eve to come back while she was off living the legal life. Her absence left a void that simply could not be filled by every other Eve Chamberlain wannabe influencer doing the exact same thing.

Uo[n9u88u88y768.jpg

Eve drives home her unique, irreplaceable personality and talent by peppering her sentences with that 'snatching at thin air' hand gesture that every influencer apparently believes they're legally required to do or they'll be removed from YouTube by the Google overlords.

But now she's quit her job, she can make even more of the same old tit. GET EXCITED, PEOPLE!

"That's what this video is. It's a REINTRODUCTION TO ME."

Um...no thanks. I've already seen enough of your self-absorbed, carbon copy influencer shtick. Please return to lawyering.

Sorry @YellowLadybird , I tried. She's just too annoying and conceited to endure for more than three minutes.

Godspeed, you Eve Cornwell Tattlers. You're far braver and made of much stronger stuff than I am.

perfect, I liked earlier Eve when she was at university, I think I will skip on “getting to know” this new one…from this, I could even imagine that she will start shilling NFTs like every youtuber does it and that’s not a good look 😬

I mean tbf not working 12 hour days probably helps with having the time to do things she actually enjoys - but yeah, I think it's a stepping stone that allowed her to safely get out of the meat grinder of corporate law, and she'll move on fairly soon.

-------------

@gossip_guy you're a legend for sitting through that. You didn't miss a lot though, as beyond confirming she's left law it was mainly a 'teaser' for whatever future content she is planning to put out this year. No dirt, sadly. I guess she's still in Links but I'm holding out hope for eventual tea.
