I honestly don’t find it too painful. Think first few times I felt abit tender for maybe the day. So I’d defo give it a day or 2 if you have any fun plans
I believe Hollywood takes in the bum holey but obv you can ask to not have it. Lots of butt spreading which is always a laugh. But most beauticians are pretty chatty so you’ll feel fine.

Managed to get a booking for Tuesday 8th December at 9am at a covid-secure hair and beauty salon - which is Covid-Secure.

Will have to fill out a form and wear a mask, while they wear visors and gloves.

It's going to be a surreal experience if I do have to end up on my back with legs up in the air (or on all 4s doggy style), and a technician prodding about down below while wearing a mask!

Anyway, the wheels are in motion

Actually, and thankfully, no!

Apparently I don't have any hairs around my other hole to bother with. So that was a relief.

But pleasantly surprised by the whole deal - nice separate room, bed, stirrups, music in the background - all matter of fact.

The only difficulty for me was keeping calm given that the therapist was very pretty and quite fetching behind her sexy visor, gloves and apron.

Still can't quite walk in a straight line, but come tomorrow I should be fine

so as someone who has been removing my hair for years, this is my verdict.

Shaving - painful and annoying, leaves razor bumps and ingrown hairs. It grows back literally within the hour and my boyfriend said as it was growing back (quote), “it feels like I’m fucking a cactus”

hair removal cream- good for a quick job, leaves you smooth, smells a bit, grows back quick too (but longer than shaving)

epilator - the most painful thing ever. Honestly my eyes water when I use it on my legs, so I could NEVER use it on my vag

waxing - best option for temporary hair removal. Leaves you total smooth for about 4-5 weeks for me. Only downsides are: lockdown, no places are open. Also it can get expensive if you go to a good place and they use hot wax (not strip wax). Also it’s painful sometimes
im currently considering laser hair removal because if I keep getting waxes, itll end up being the same price as laser

I would say though with laser, I did a series of it on my underarms and was taken in with the whole “permanent” nature of it. It’s not permanent - I had my course of it done and was probably hair free for 3-4 months. You’d then need to have another course and then another so it would add up hugely especially if you want a more expansive area done. I bought a home laser kit but couldn’t get on with it as it takes ages. I’ve settled with shaving my legs and underarms and getting a Brazilian wax every 6-8 weeks (in normal times) and that seems the best way to stay smooth!

apparently the therapist just told her she was finished and said she could put her clothes back on

I wax my underarms, and shave my legs. Right now with lockdown I’m using hair removal cream down there while I figure out if I want laser long term.

omg darn hair removal companies, selling me fake advertisements and claiming it’s permanent is it true if you keep getting waxed, eventually the hair just thins overtime? If so, I can get on board with that lol!

Haha, how can you fancy someone in a visor and a plastic pinny? . That's interesting re: positions, I would have thought a stirrup situation would be really quite graphic.

Don’t use the actual epilator head for down there it will hurt trust me. Most epilators come with a shaver head and they work so well! Leave a nice finish. Obviously they don’t pull the hair but it’s the easiest and best way to get a clean look.

It's really not bad and it's over in a flash. If you can stand to epilate your legs, getting a Hollywood wax will be a breeze!

I moved up here about a year or so ago. I bought a house in a small village just for some peace and quiet while becoming self-employed. It was only ever going to a short term thing anyway because I do hope to return to Johannesburg next year as I'll be ready for the hectic big city madness once again.

I really do miss the convenience of city life

ive never been to SA but it looks so beautiful...I hope you do make the move and enjoy it

city life is great, but super noisy as well, there’s always police cars/ambulance etc. Or screaming drunk people

Some pain to begin with, along with some initial embarrassment having to "reveal all" to the therapist, but she said she's seen it all many times before and not to worry.

Feels a little red and tender down below, but OMG it also feels incredibly smooth too.

I will try to imagine it will be just like having a smear test. Actually, do they put you in stirrups with legs in the air? I also hope we go into a private room? And do they go anywhere near your bumhole? Not that I have any hairs down there. (Jeez, am I really talking about this at tea time? lol)

See I find smears awkward too but its over in like a minute. Its that initial moment you spread your legs that gets me haha I've never had my legs in stirrups thankfully.
From the people I know who have had it done they do everywhere so yes they check your bum too.

I think the epilator would be too painful to get it all done tbh. Plus you would risk possible injury at the 'danger zone' area if you know what I mean. I would suggest laser at a reputable salon or wax. There are loads of salons now that just do body waxing so they are experts.

I go to a waxing salon and the poor women there seem to be eye to eye with foof all day waxing and have seen it all!

this used to put me off too, but a lady told me she sees multiple vaginas a day and has seen it all before lol, so that made me feel a bit more comfortable

So the lady can quite categorically say to her friends she sees lots of c**ts and arseholes on a daily basis

It took me about 10 minutes hanging on the phone to get through to the salon. They said the lockdown restrictions were being lifted today and that they could now open for business. But they were getting swamped with phone calls trying to get a booking (They don't have a website)

maybe if you have sensitive skin it’ll itch, but the girl I go to puts this aloe Vera lotion on the top bit afterwards, which really helps
