Because your job isn’t the only thing you can think about or have an opinion on? Because, thank god, LONG gone are the days when the pretty little women were told to keep their silly ideas about the wider world in their teeny tiny brains. What I can't understand is why people who play dressing up for a living think they are in any way qualified to speak about politics or anything else? They all seem to think that just because a lot of people know who they are that they can ram their opinions down everyone else's throats. I am sick of the lot of them - the only one I like and admire is Ricky Gervais as he has a spine and the strength of character to call out bullshit when he sees it. Plus he loves animals.
Ive never understood the ‘celebrities should keep their opinions to themselves’ mindset, they’ve got every right to say what they want as do the rest of us.Because your job isn’t the only thing you can think about or have an opinion on? Because, thank god, LONG gone are the days when the pretty little women were told to keep their silly ideas about the wider world in their teeny tiny brains.
Good grief.
No problem with people talking about things other than their job or having opinions. I do, however, have a problem with people like Emma Thompson and her ilk lecturing and preaching to the rest of the world whilst doing the very things they are saying the rest of us shouldn't be doing! She's a sanctimonious hypocrite.Because your job isn’t the only thing you can think about or have an opinion on? Good grief.
