Emma thinks she has good style, but that's not the case. She has "a" style, which is better than none, and it's classic and minimal and fine, but it's not very creative or expressive (even her house is this way). Maybe that's all she's going for: to be safe, inconspicuous, and not take risks. But that's boring, and I don't need someone to tell me how to be boring, much less provide twice-yearly closet switchover videos, seasonal "Top 10 _____s", tips for how to purchase the same boring items, and how to style them 5 boring ways.

If I saw Emma walking down the street, I wouldn't look at her and think "She's got great style!" I would maybe think she was rich because of her Céline handbag or Gucci loafers, but that's it. I wouldn't necessarily want to get to know her. By contrast, I walked by a woman on my lunch break once (oh, to wander the streets downtown leisurely looking for places to eat again!) who had on an outfit that not only looked great, but she looked so natural and confident in it that I wanted to ask her where she got the skirt, what she did, what she was into, etc. That is true style. I can laugh at someone like The Anna Edit for trying so hard despite not having a clue, but I feel sad for Emma. More and more, the vibe I get from her outfits is "Keep walking, don't look at me. I'd rather be at home with my dogs, rearranging my handbags."

Look I like Disney films and whatnot because it’s a part of my childhood but I always find it weird when people in their 30s are still crazy obsessed with it where their holidays only consist of Disney cruises, Disney parks etc and they don’t even have any kids to enjoy it with! It’s what I always find a bit strange with Emma and Simon.

Thanks Emma for providing us a 6 minute video that was completely unnecessary. What to wear when eating outside?!? Um a shirt and bottoms, maybe some shoes? Dead.
Like did she think we are so thrown off by covid that we might show up in a ball gown to a pub lunch? Or maybe wearing our pajamas to a smart restaurant? Not sure why she thought this was an necessary video

How many more times this season are we going to be subjected to the same ass video? My Winter Wardrobe Essentials is My Winter Coat/Shoes/Knitwear Collection is My Most Worn Winter Items is My Winter Wardrobe Edit. WE GET IT. The horse is dead, beaten, fitted with cement shoes and thrown into the ocean.

Hey, we need a new thread soonish. I can do it, and hopefully we get rid of the wrong Emma (Tamsin) Hill tag then. But we need a new thread title. Maybe someone has a funny idea? Otherwise we just call it "Emma Hill #2". But that's not very catchy.
Since Emma was MIA for a longer time, and since she came back is ultra bland. I have not a single idea for a funny title myself.

Some possible hints
-bland clothes
-wardrobe switchover without showing the clothes and bags
-buying of 10x the same bag, just because she wasn't able to acquire the designer one she wanted, immediately
I would want a play on her (cough, cough) 'sustainability' efforts. Something like...
Emma Hill #2- Her content is reduced, reused and recycled, but her wardrobe certainly isn't!
Someone can improve upon that, I'm sure. :)

Did she buy another Celine handbag?
No I think she got this last year (or maybe earlier this year).I love me some Celine but have no idea why someone who doesn't have to leave the house for work, apparently doesn't really socialise, and almost grudgingly posts repetitive outfit pics as a "career" needs so many designer bags. In the middle of a pandemic.

The vibe she is going for is really just "depressed rich layabout"
HA! I love this. I feel crazy for admitting it, but I miss her vlogs. I guess what I mean is that I miss her actually having a personality, annoying as it was, and having even an ounce of interest in her job. Listening to her speak slowly over a cutaway is like watching paint dry. She, like Lizzy Hadfield, is morphing into a living Tumblr. Soon she'll crop her head from her photos entirely, completing her transformation into "anonymous outfit lady on Pinterest".

That is the ugliest bathroom I’ve ever seen someone intentionally create. People are ripping out these normcore mid-2000s builder-basic bathrooms these days. Not putting them in! Everything she does now is so boring and off putting. She used to be a person you cheered for and now she seems so resentful of the people who follow her and the job she chooses to do.

I know it’s been said 100 times - but Emma needs a career rethink. I don’t understand how she still has any followers 🤷🏻‍♀️

Emma has jumped on the “ethical” bandwagon after years of promoting hauls of fast fashion from unethical brands and continues to support H&M for some reason - they must pay well 🤷🏻‍♀️ I feel her labelling things “cruelty free” is further tokenism, in my opinion.

Yes yes yes!! So true!! Better get the dollars in to fund the bathroom. Disgusting really, she’s being proper lazy and just flogging off all her stuff to all the little minions. I still can’t believe how extortionate her blazer edit was after all the years she spent buying Zara and Mango. She’s forgotten her roots!!!!!!!!
Holy fuck she made a pretty penny on the latest Depop uploads. Quite a bunch of stuff she’s had for less than a year AND all those “vintage” pieces she bought in the summer. I can’t believe she’s already sold the Max Mara too. I’m IN AWE. The audacity is just...wow.

She made a huge deal about running the marathon, made videos on the charity she was donating to, the application process, workout gear haul, etc. It wasn't until after she ran the marathon that she wrote a long blog post about it, basically confessing that she was bogged down with anxiety the entire time and didn't train at all, even though she kept promising her viewers she'd share her training regimen. She did run and finish the marathon, but the whole thing was really irresponsible.
What got me really was the lying! Remember when people would leave comments asking her about her training in the months leading up to it and she would just vaguely reply "she just went for runs" (along those lines, you get my drift). She did this quite a few times as I remember there was at least 1 commenter who used to comment on multiple posts about her routine (sorry can't be bothered to dig up receipts!)

Then when she wrote that confession blog post it was almost like she wanted a pat on the back for being so brave and admitting she lied, and she received so many comments praising her for it.

I just couldn't get over the fact that she just blatantly lied (although she did admit it)...

(I do realise that influenzas are hardly the bastion of morality🤣 but I don't know why it bothers me so much)

Can you just imagine the amount of negativity and self pity when Emma and debs (bang on style) are in the same room.

they both seem really draining, I had to unfollow both as I just felt really low when watching either of them.

She put up a long story a couple months ago about her gut issues. I shared mine with her and she was sooo snooty in her reply and said her gut was ‘perfectly fine’
Ummm okay because you just basically told us wheat and beef made you shit ya self hun so your gut is clearly not okay

unfollowed her as didn’t want her to gain any income from my following or swipe ups.

The irony is not lost on me! And for someone who gets a lot of their wardrobe free or gifted...

I also don’t support buying things you can’t pay for, and do question the Klarnas and other buy now, pay later schemes, BUT and I think it’s a big but, it makes some purchases accessible for more people. I’m thinking in the sense of sustainable fashion brands being financially inaccessible to many, but that doesn’t mean that if someone needs a new pair of trousers and wants a pair from a small, locally producing company, they shouldn’t be able to. I don’t know. I find Emma’s reasoning a little classist.
It's not like a new washing machine you have to get asap, because you old has broken down and you children don't stop to make their stuff dirty. It's clothes, people who watch Emma certainly have their pants and jumpers and shirts. In that case you don't need to go and buy her suggestions on credit, just that she is able to pay HER rent.

It's more sustainable to keep the clothes you may've bought at Zara, H&M, Primark and so on than going to acquire just more new stuff.

Didn't watch that video, I am still digesting her buying of infinite amount of the same same bag. She really doesn't need to talk about sustainability. It doesn't matter if she sells those bags on later, she bought them in the first place, and they all look the friggin same.

Why would anyone feel the need to watch this video? All you need to see is in the screenshot; the other 6 minutes is her swaying from side to side in her studio with a drab voiceover about investing in neutrals and her 3-color rule.
