was just from her story today saying she hasn’t worked out childcare yetshe’s a grifter who plays pretend at being career woman. Going to chat in soho for an hour barely counts as work, but she doesn’t like to think of herself as the workshy eejit she actually is.
Anyone else think she’s really running out of content?! Every post is either “I’m being

I am mega confused why she's not taking any mat leave though? She'll massively regret not having this time with her baby. I understand its more complicated being self employed (presumably?) but surely she will have enough money between her and Alex (& her parents) to be able to take some real time off to just be a family

her podcast is basically just turning up and having a chat with/shouting over her mate.
the rest of her “job” involves taking some selfies or video of herself.
it’s not taxing, doesn’t require much time and doesn’t take her away from the baby. Indeed, baby has become a useful prop for many of the ads.
her latest podcast was listening to Caggie chat some bull about Saturn returning. All she has to do was make a few silly jokes, laugh at them and let Caggie talking about people becoming saturniphobic. Hardly huge time away from baby.
she took a few weeks away from social media when Arlo was born, but prior to her birth, i remember Em saying that, as an influencer, she couldn't take maternity leave/any prolonged amount of time off "werk", because her audience would disappear and people would unfollow if she wasn't regularly sharing content - thus essentially expecting sympathy that she can't go on maternity leave due to the pressure of her job, and needing to get back to work despite having just had a baby, due to the expectation that she dance around her kitchen every Friday or her audience - and her "career" - will disappear!She's said a few times she only washes it once a week. I reckon so, but he’s not on brand for her (or rather, his views aren’t) so I don’t think she’d publicise it much.
she’s happy to use his influencer to get column inches and exposure, but will distance herself if there’s a chance it might alienate her chosen target demographic.

Honestly I mostly don’t mind her except I think she could be a bit more picky over which brands she works with- a little less snake oil please - but also has she not heard of breast pads yet? Like I don’t understand why she is showing us that she’s leaking beads of milk through a thin top, when she could just get some breast pads.
For attention of course. To be
relatable. Why is she showing us pictures of herself crying regularly? Why is she supposedly having a breakdown most days? Why did she remind us about her HG daily when she was pregnant? Why does she still tell us about her HG when she is no longer pregnant? Why has she made dirty hair her entire personality?
Anyone else think this is the start of the end of her “career”? Not much content and when she does post it’s just “hi I’m overwhelmed but I’ll be back” then when she’s back “I had a cup of tea because I’m overwhelmed” “that’s my tea” “I am my tea” “if you’re also my tea then hi”
yeh she was never that innovative or creative anyway.
she’s got enough followers that I reckon she can coast along indefinitely now. She’ll be a SAHM and use Instagram to feed her ego/get attention with the odd bit of pocket money from symprove or whatever. Will probably use her daughter for cash injections too.

Of course it comes into it. What parent wouldn't help their kids. If she said she wanted a year off but couldn't afford it on maternity allowance (self employed version of mat leave) they could help her out.
I'm massively lucky my dad helped us out by helping pay towards a new boiler last year when we were without heat. He also helped towards buying a buggy for our first baby a good few years ago.
But I'd do the same for my kids too when their grown. Of course i want them to earn their own money too but if they needed some help for some reason (like buying things for a new baby) I'd help.
Em is clearly very close to her parents (or at least her mum) so if she wanted to take maternity leave she could. I'm sure given her name she'd rebuild followers again when she returned.
I personally think it's wrong to assume that just because your parents helped you out, that Em's parents are doing the same.

Parent. My mum died when I was a teenager.
I'm not saying she doesn't earn her own money too. Just think the "influencer" and losing followers excuse is a sad waste when she could have a good 6 months at least mat leave and still be OK financially.
Not saying anyone should run to their parents for everything and I don't either. Anything weve borrowed we usually pay back anyway (interest free so still better than a bank loan) but most people help their kids if they can for the big things like a new baby.
Or they could get a stand in co presenter to do the podcast with Alex for a while
