Meal prepping for when she’s rushed? When is she ever rushed. Her days seem very slow to me.

Thankfully Jess Harris doesn’t seem like she has any intention of giving up her 9-5, I much prefer her content.
I don't like her, personally. Neither I like her sister. First I thought what a breath of fresh air, but when you start looking closer, they are both privately educated, with loads of family help, etc. The UK is full of privileged influencers who got there because of their safety net (getting cameras from parents, etc.). Do you know any that aren't privileged from the start (and aren't total chats)? I need to watch more 'normal' people for my mental health.

I really like Johanna Helena as well, she does mostly 9-5 content and very realistic vlogs.

Maybe the trick is to not look closer and take it for what it is. She works a full time job and isn’t relying on brands to fund her lifestyle and it’s not her fault she’s been privately educated. I’m not a Jess fan girl by any means and she drives me crackers when she constantly over-corrects herself but at least she’s a bit more relatable than your usual full-time content creator.

I guess I don’t know any who aren’t overtly privileged from the off because I don’t really pay any attention to that side of it. I only start kicking off when they start doing dodgy stuff, exploiting their kids and not disclosing ads etc. People don’t really have any control over their upbringing.

I do feel for her since I’m sure she thought her YouTube would continue to take off like it did in the 2023-2024 era. I think she really underestimated how little people care for full time YouTubers and would rather watch someone with a normal job, normal life. Her content also feels quite repetitive and uninspired now.
I wonder how she feels about her (former?) friend Hannah Adkins regularly getting over 100K views on YouTube. Hannah's content is also boring and repetitive, though her content tends to be aesthetically pleasing and her personality is far less annoying than Ellen's imo.

I do wonder if it's Ellen's OTT hand clapping persona that has turned a lot of people off. I know it's one of the main reasons I stopped watching. She wasn't always like that.

I no longer watch either Harris sister these days (maybe once in a while when I run out of other things to watch) but I had noticed a bit of a change in Jess by the time I stopped watching: more materialistic maybe, a bit smug? She had also developed an annoying habit of shoving the camera in her partner's face and kissing him. I found her very down-to-earth when I first started watching her, but increasingly performative by the time I stopped

I think I mentioned this further up thread, but what put me off Ellen was when she had a friend round once and they were just screaming constantly about nothing. Cameron walked in and then walked straight out again. Absolutely ridiculous from a 30 year old.

For someone who had a lucrative career and part owns a house worth well over a million quid on the Thames, she behaves like a young teenager.

It's the squealing, reading and acting like a teenager, and OTT hand gestures that've stopped me watching

Sadly, me too.
I can't understand how an adult with a good career could become a bit of an empty shell with little of interest to share.
It feels like her world has shrunk and unless you're living in an expensive semi in Surrey with a wealthy fiancé, planning a wedding in SA and looking forward to a life of living comfortably with little need to meet bills, then she has little in common and most of us are sidelined.

I don't bother watching her these days, it's just not interesting.

I cringed so hard when she went on about how happy she was being engaged at the same time as Taylor swift. I have nothing against like Taylor swift but..seriously?? As a 30 year old you don’t have better things to be happy about in life??? She centers too much of her content around her engagement/ relationship/ wedding.

I only just discovered Ellen last week when one of her 9-5 videos came up in my feed. I really enjoyed it, and liked seeing how her day went - and she had a similar commute to me, I think we must live in the same borough. I watched a few more of her videos, and enjoyed them and thought good for her for working full time and finding time for all the 'cosy' activities, so it's disappointing to see she has just become a generic influencer, I'm sure that wasn't how she got her subscribers, she is completely unrelateable now..of course she has all the time to pursue her hobbies now she is unemployed!

Christ in heaven, the squealing in the latest vlog over a freebie she’s been sent is excruciating - and she’s how old????!

And WTF is ‘so fun’ - considering she must have gone to a private school, how does she not know what poor grammar that is?! I went to a rough a comprehensive and am embarrassed for her every time she says it!

I feel like I’m watching a kid sometimes who has no idea how the world works when I watch her videos.

Also that fact that she said Cameron handles all of the financial stuff?? That is such a HUGE no no as a woman. As a 30 year old she needs to know how to save, invest, pay her bills, plan for the future. The stupid prompt of saving 3p a week isn’t doing anything for anyone

Given she lived alone and was a (seemingly successful) consultant on a good salary before she met Cameron, it’s like she removed her brain and became a Surrey Stepford wife as soon as he moved in. If he’s happy to sign up for that, good for him but, presumably, she’s no longer the independent person he was initially attracted to.

For anyone interested, I've started a thread for Jess Harris and her sister Jen under the influencer section!

It is strange how much she's changed since she moved house/got engaged. She was in a LTR before Cameron and didn't act like an overexcited teenager back then. I wonder what changed? Maybe this is how Cameron likes things? Perhaps he's a bit of a traditionalist: wife at home, husband in charge of the finances. Total speculation as I don't even watch here these days and only read.

Is the wedding soon? I think someone mentioned it was early 2026.

I think she had a lot of parental financial support in her London days. She has always seemed quite dependent to me.
