Another Ellen-type YouTuber - Rachel Sanderling - popped up on my YouTube algorithm the other week (mostly, I think, as she’s based in Cornwall and I watch a lot of a videos of there). Looks similar to Ellen, wears similar clothing, does re-sets and reading BUT she has a full time job, a much calmer demeanour and has what looks to be a pretty fulfilling life. I’m finding her content very much more enjoyable. These types of YouTubers are 10 a penny, though, so do need to make their content interesting and Ellen’s is pretty dull now, and most people in her age group (and I’m not!) don’t have the cash to buy a £1.5M house on the Thames!

He works in sales in a leadership position I believe . She used to be a consultant so earnt a lot more than if she was salaried !!
She's also said she currently earns a lot less as a full-time influencer than she did in her previous job, so I wonder if she'll stick with it long-term if her earnings don't increase.

Ah now you mention that I do remember Ellen mentioning her friend Hannah who was successful on YouTube - I assumed she meant Hannah Ricketts. Whatever you think of Hannah Adkins, her vlogs are superior in every way compared to Ellen's within that over saturated genre and that is shown in the difference between their subscriber numbers. I was very surprised to see quite how derivative Ellen's content is - she even copies Hannah Adkin's thumbnail style. It makes it even more mind boggling that Ellen gave up her successful career plus the 9-5 content to be a poor imitation of an ex friend!
Hannah was one of my YouTube faves for a while, but I found her content took a turn for the very boring when she moved to the Cotswolds. I also followed her mostly for her plant-based content, which she has since dropped. Her vlogs do look good, though! Everything is very pretty.

I do feel for her since I’m sure she thought her YouTube would continue to take off like it did in the 2023-2024 era. I think she really underestimated how little people care for full time YouTubers and would rather watch someone with a normal job, normal life. Her content also feels quite repetitive and uninspired now.
I wonder how she feels about her (former?) friend Hannah Adkins regularly getting over 100K views on YouTube. Hannah's content is also boring and repetitive, though her content tends to be aesthetically pleasing and her personality is far less annoying than Ellen's imo.

I do wonder if it's Ellen's OTT hand clapping persona that has turned a lot of people off. I know it's one of the main reasons I stopped watching. She wasn't always like that.

Probably first trimester.
They're in Mauritius, having a well-earned holiday from their hectic lives....cue incoming "holiday shop with me", "pack with me", "my holiday reading list", "what I have on my kindle", "look, we're significantly richer than you" vlogs!
I'm so envious! 😉🤣

The truth has emerged about her leaving her 9-5 and going full-time on YouTube. In her latest vlog she says the company she worked for changed their social media policy and the new policy meant that she would have to quit YouTube completely - so she chose YouTube over her 9-5. Sounds as though the company was keeping close tabs on her too - she mentioned that they watched a lot of her videos.
She probably bored them to death

I watched her latest video, and the part of her not wanting his last name seems a bit odd to me. She doesn’t have to take his last name, but surely that’s one of the conversations that should have been had prior to the wedding? It seems like she wanted the actual wedding rather than the marriage itself.

In her last video, in her Q&A section she did say the two of them still want kids. Maybe that’s her soft launching the idea of a pregnancy.

Right now her content is very inoffensive but boring. I really hope if she does continue to vlog, she keeps her potential children completely out of it. Kids do not belong in front of a camera in any circumstance.

I think her end goal is to venture into social media full time, basically an influencer. I just wonder what her main focus would be once she’s out of the pending wedding content. Her current videos are all samey so it will be interesting to see what she does to stand out.

I think she had a lot of parental financial support in her London days. She has always seemed quite dependent to me.

All her vlogs are like Grounhog day. I can understand vloggers who also have a job having fairly repetitive content,at least it's only a hobby or side hustle for them. When people leave jobs/careers to make social media their 'full time job' and their content is repetitive, it's clear they either lack inspiration or see it as 'easy money' and throw together anything just to scrape together a living. Sadly Ellen comes across as quite boring and the relationship she's in comes across as 'staged' for social media, she seems quite needy and not very nice to him at times. Almost as if shes with him because she needs to keep up with her friends and he was available
She wants a baby. Her friends are married with babies, she feels left out...
Cue baby content...

I don’t think she has too much saved up. A long time ago she said her savings goal was 30k or somethin - which is a lot but not if you’re using it to pay a mortgage/daily expenses. And I don’t think she’s been saving at all recently due to wedding expenses.

Her views are also the lowest they’ve been since she started her channel. And money comes from views, not necessarily subscriber numbers. I’m really curious how she’s managing to get by right now.

I’m fairly certain that when she worked in her corporate role she didn’t even work full time. I recall her saying she didn’t work Fridays. I have a feeling that Cameron works in something tech finance related but don’t quote me there!

Is she in South Africa to get married? I haven't watched her on YouTube in months, but took a look at her IG the other day and she was travelling somewhere.

I used to follow her but I can’t bring myself to watch her vlogs anymore. Her hand gestures are just plain embarrassing. She 30 but it sometimes seems as if she 13.
Can you imagine the squealing etc. when she starts on the wedding content? I didn't watch any of her engagement videos because I knew she'd be so OTT and I won't be watching the wedding planning either. Not the sort of content I'm interested in anyway.

I always remember her being quite chill and laid back when I first watched her. I guess this is her influencer persona.

Today's vlog was quite short but so boring and she's becoming more and more removed from reality. Titting about spending a shitload of money on expensive clothes, face cream and books (Waterstones must surely be THE most expensive place to buy books!) when she doesn't have a regular income, then making some biscuits. She lives the life of a rich and retired pensioner! She's now so unrelateable to most people, and not just of her age.

Cameron met her when she was working in a corporate job. How soon before he becomes bored of what limited conversation she must have, unless he wants a Stepford Wife.
I can’t see this relationship lasting. He is going to get bored.
