This apparently! Why would he approach children and not an adult? If they called the guards it proves there was a concern for welfare .I’d do the very same if I saw anyone (regardless of nationality )loitering outside a school and approaching children.
Surely you would go into a shop and ask for help to contact a family member and not just randoms either adults or kids on the street. Sounds like it has just been accepted at face value.

Unfortunately, I doubt a nationalist government will get in. Irish voters have severe Stockholm syndrome. And Helen mcentee has been handing out citizenship like smarties, so all the new doctors and engineers will have a vote.
