Domestic Violence Helplines

Everything can and does set off an abuser. This is when more people at the same time get abused. Christmas is also a dodgy time. as is Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Opening the door wrong, spreading the butter wrong. looking at them when they come through the door, not looking at them when they come through the door. eating a noisy biscuit, or packet of crisps.

Those of you in a violent relationship, do what you can to get out, don't feel sorry for them. don't wait for them to change, don't believe it's your fault that you just wound them up. I know when you are in it its feels hopeless but its easier to get out than you think but you won't see that until you look back.

Don't leave it years before you get out. as soon as someone hits you, or mentally abuses you, leave, don't overthink it, until you or they convince you it was a one-off or they are so sorry. or it was your own fault. just leave. if you want to leave and can't, then get help to leave by ringing a helpline. don't think further than leaving or you will convince yourself it's too hard.. first step, leave, the rest will follow and you will be OK.
