Do you wash your (new) clothes before wearing them?

I always wash sale clothes because I bought a few things in the past that were quite obviously worn & returned & then put out on the sale rack when the time came. One bad money & a phone in the pocket & a couple wreaked of BO, didn’t notice until I was home & trying on 🤢 also worked with a girl that would wear thinfs a couple of times on nights out & then return them, she only took tags off if she decided to keep them so often would have a tag inside her dress or top.
A lot of mass produced clothing is sprayed with preservatives in the factory before shipping to the stores so I wash most new things

If you’re finding it hard to understand, maybe compare it to spending a few minutes in a room with a Covid carrier vs spending all day in a room with one. Which is likely to be more harmful to your health? And yes, I know these crazy chemicals are not as harmful as Covid, but they certainly could be over time, and especially if you have autoimmunity issues...which ironically can be caused by these stupid chemicals in the first place. Just wash the chemicals off and help keep yourself safe. Trust me. 🤗
Well my sister caught Covid from being in a room with someone who tested positive for like 10 minutes, she didn’t need to stay in the room all day and it has been pretty harmful to her health. I was just genuinely interested but it’s clearly too hard for me to understand 😀 Not questioning whether it’s right or wrong to wash your clothes first or not. I mostly do anyway unless I’ve ran out clothes and they’re all in the wash 😂

You do realise everything is a chemical don’t you? Water is a chemical. You’re washing your clothes with chemicals to get the chemicals off 😂😂

Everyone knows this but there is obviously a difference between a pesticide and water. Just like I am happy to drink and shower in water but I obviously don't want to drink or shower in bleach. There is an obvious difference. We know everything is a chemical but some are more harmful than others just like some are made for humans and some aren't

I never get this sorry. I drink water but I wouldn't drink sulphuric acid. I'd rather have water on my clothes then other chemicals.

If you have sulphuric acid on your clothes, you’ve got big problems 😂

the point is, chemicals don’t mean bad or dangerous, so there is no need to wash them off your clothes. Unless you know which chemicals clothes come
Into contact with during manufacturing and know they’re harmful to you, it just sounds like someone who doesn’t really know what they’re talking about.

In regards to the sulphuric acid, exactly. Just saying they are all chemicals makes it like you say in the last part.

Yes I wash new clothes, bedding, towels. I don't with a new coat or jeans though I probably should. I was always taught to to get rid of any factory treatment. I also wash anything I buy secondhand which is a lot of my clothing. I try everything on I buy so anything really bad would be spotted before I bought it. I check the condition carefully anyway.

I never used to (if bought new) but if I've bought anything wearable since Covid, it definitely gets washed now 😬

I always have washed anything bought second hand though. I'm a frequent thrifter/charity shopper and it needs to be clean/smell of my detergent before I can wear it.
