Yes I knew I had a 4 week ban where it shows as 'banned' though I thought it would be removed today as it's the 4th.

I emailed vanilla too, they aren't using that anymore and it bounced back. The current one is the other one ' [email protected]

I have now managed to email them through a new email address I set up and from asdas WiFi. I'd like to continue with my account after 17 years on there although its not the end of the world if I can't.

All this for posting to a Dr Sam Bailey video on YouTube regarding pcr test reliability. Sigh

When I was banned it wasn't lifted until the day after I thought it would be. And while I know it's no comfort to you, many have been banned for far less than that - myself included. It really is a cess-pit over there now but I find myself unable to resist checking to see what's happening now. Good luck getting back in.

Update' unfortunately my long run has come to an end, they just sent me this, my own fault really

Wow! I guess there are ways to circumvent this if you have the desire and energy to do so but they're becoming increasingly draconian (not to mention inconsistent) so maybe it's not worth it.

The whole thing is ridiculous really when you look back at my previous threads and posts on there, ive hardly been controversial over the years. I did enjoy the forums, great for advice too on phones computers etc. I will live on in previous threads! And check the General discussion department from time to time

Can't say im not disappointed though I do take responsibility trying to register another account. I guess I had withdrawal symptoms from digital spy

There's no consistency whatsoever on DS - they hand out warnings and bans for the most trivial things while allowing certain posters to say what they want, no matter how bad it is, with no comeback. You then have the big red sign saying 'USER BANNED, PLEASE CARRY ON' over the profile picture for everyone to see showing how petty they are that they either feel the need to embarrass the forum member or prove to everyone else how much authority they've got - this seems to be backfiring because they ban so many people because of a certain few who spend all day pushing the report button, that all it does is confirm that they are just minions to the clique who they seem to be scared of.

I'm surprised that she's been there less than a year yet posts so often and seems to have influence on decisions.

It's very telling isn't it but also very frustrating for the members (like me) who've been on there for years and have recently been banned for micky mouse reasons when you see what others get away with.

Yes, it's more than frustrating. Way back in the good old days you used to be able to have an adult discussion with no repercussions. Now you can't simply disagree with someone and you get the post pulled and at least a reprimand if not a ban. Yesterday's exchange on the "regrets" thread was a good example of this. Anyway, if it hadn't been for that particular person I wouldn't be here, so it's all good.

I did - I made the point that to have an informed opinion, you'd need to look at all the possibilities. Apparently this is a very upsetting thing to say to someone on a public discussion forum because it's not taking their concerns seriously.

That's harsh.

A ban should be for something very serious I believe and not for putting forward ideas or seeing things from a different angle whether that's on how covids being handled or anything else in society.

You have to wonder whether she's being employed by Hearst to stir up controversy and cause arguments to slim their membership down - I think someone pointed out on an earlier post that they may be over their quota so are having a cull.

Maybe the mods just want members who all have the same opinion and who want to spend all their time trying to outdo each other on how woke and liberal they are to save having to actually moderate anything.

Maybe they just like Walter Mitty types and keep these people on there to see what they're going to post next and for the entertainment value!

Tanya absolutely fascinates me and horrifies me in equal measures. I cannot work her out. I don't for one minute believe she is a 38 year old mother of 1, she seems to have far too much time on her hands if she can produce the number of posts she has in the short time she's been on DS. The post on the Covid weddings thread where she waffled on about her divorce and how fantastic she looked when she walked out of her marriage was just jaw dropping. I think that was the post, for me that signalled the final nail in the coffin for my time in DS! To be fair I still like some of the soap threads so I haven't left completely. I'm outraged at the way some of you have been treated by the mods recently, it seems so unfair that the people with the most to contribute are the ones being punished.

It is strange how so many of her posts are removed and yet there never seems to be any sort of comeback on her - just for the other poster.

There's also a few on the politics thread that seem to be able to say what they want without suffering any consequences - it seems a very strange way to run a public forum where only one opinion is accepted, sort of defeats the object of a discussion!
